I am just curious about numbers of escorts/SPs compared to numbers of pooners in Vancouver area. There are 2.3 million people living in Vancouver area. Half of them will be male so about 1.15 million men in this area, but about 1/3 will be eligible to be pooners so about 400,000 men. Would you say 10% of those men be active pooners so possibly 40,000 men seeking for escorts regularly. By looking at the ads here and other sites, I think there are about 500 to 1000 providers. What do you think? Good pooning ratio?

I don't know about accuracy but I think how you arrived at your figure for pooners is something I agree with. As for providers, I don't think you are even close. I had heard that the downtown eastside alone has 2000 streetwalkers. Then there all the ones that advertise on ers, bp, vancity, etc., and then there's the micros, and the hundreds of girls who are trying it for the first time who post on casual encounters, and then there's the massage parlours ans even legit spas. I'd say there's at least 10,000 providers in this city.
Which is why you can get dirt cheap sex here as compared to other cities, for at least below average quality (I am not referring to the DTES hookers). Victoria is even cheaper given the better average quality there, and that's because of their limited economy forcing a lot of girls into the trade.
Just think, back in the days of the real-paper Yellow Pages, there were 40 pages of ads just for Escort Agencies...and you can't not notice the growth in #s of ads in the GS...altogether, I'd have to agree that we're talking a lot of ladies out there.

Oops, you got me there...1% of 1.25 mil...I suppose there could be 5-10k (but let's not count the ones who don't know, or don't acknowledge, that they are, as that's a different category altogether)...
