"Burts thinks that he contracted HIV during oral sex in gay porn shot in Florida, but isn't sure. Condoms had been used for penetration in that instance, as it often is in gay porn, but not during oral sex."

Makes sense to me.... it's physically possible. The only thing, is that it has been difficult to isolate cases of it. Now we have yet another person who testifies it is so.

Why are they not doing testing on these actors before the shot... It seen that none of them have any respect for the other people they are interacting with .
What is it all about just the money or the having sex .. I don't get it , when they know that AIDs is so prevalent in their community why are they still taking these chances ...

Any one that is having sex with maul table partners has to realize that test every month may not be enough if they are participating in risk behavior

I think that if people have test once a week and that goes for every one that they have seen and who the others have seen down 5X layers then you may be ok in having unprotected sex .. but other wise if you don't know the statues of the person you are sucking and fucking , wear a condom

They do get tested. In fact, I'm 99% sure they have to, by law. That's why when news of someone testing positive comes out, there aren't an additional 30 others who have been infected as a result. The best they can do is catch it quickly, hopefully the person whose test comes back positive hasn't had a chance to infect any other actor. But they all have to get tested - but since sti's aren't always detectable right after transmission, then there will always be that risk. Anyone who is doing porn is aware of the risk and makes the decision.

It sounds like a crazy risk but really it's actually not all that much riskier than fucking multiple partners who are not in porn, who most definitely do not get tested as often as people who do porn and who definitely don't fuck people who get tested often as other people in porn do. I'd say the risk is the same when you consider all those things - and I wouldn't be surprised if it's less risky to be in porn than to fuck multiple people outside of porn.

Since he is doing gay porn...he probably fucks 10 guys a week off the chat lines, just for kicks......so no surprise on this one...

And now, the next tests comes out NEGATIVE. Shooting resumes in the Valley. The said adult film actor is probably jumping for joy. :clap2:

Personal testimonies, anecdotes, and news stories are not the way for anyone to learn about health issues. We have the Health Nurse right here who is familiar with all the medical knowledge built up from years and years of studies, ask her.

It very positionable for HIV test to come up with the wrong results AS I understand the Biology behind the test It is looking for certain markers in the immune system that are off from what is though to be normal . When that shows up on a HIV test then there is a positive result Then they test you with a more sensitive test.

There is one problem with the test any sickness you have or had around the time of the test could give a positive result ,a cold or the flue would do it ..
All so may times they batch test blood samples to save money , That means a number of peoples sample are mixed together and testes at the same time If one is wrong then all the people are notified to get retested .. It has happened once to me it is a bit of a shock when they say you need to do your HIV test again .. The next was negative .

The reality about sex with other s is that we expose our selves to any number of viruses that another person may be carrying but does not have an adverse effect on them , They have an immunity , built up through the years .. and depending how much the virus has changes from the original .. when we are exposed to it we don't have immunity and we get sick.

We can get tested on a regular bases for about 7 different things but there are a few dozen other viruses that we can get from physical contact with others that can cause each of us symptoms of some kind . but if our immune system is healthy we can usually beat them down .

i have a compromised immune system .. , Part because of how yrs of stress has effected it and causing me to develop Fibremiolaga .. which is an auto immune system disorder..and when it flairs up put a constant load on my immune system a and weakens it . So I am aware that i could get false reading on my HIV tests

Wonder if he might get positive with his next test in 2-3 months?
I think fate is trying to get his attention to tell him something that not everyone gets this second lease in life even if the first test is suppose to be false. I hope he gets the message and move on and decide to do something else.

I would guess it's significantly less risky to have sex in porn or with reputable SPs as far as the odds of catching something. Quantity of partners isn't going to get you an STD, quality of partners will.

Yup, not long after I posted that, I found this:

AIM Healthcare Foundation has stated that the rate of STDs in adult film actors in production companies that follow the AIM testing protocols is 2.4%, which they state is "considerably lower than the average for sexually active young people with similar demographics."

Obviously it's impossible to get real estimates of sex workers in Canada due to the legal context but if you look at places where it's legal in Australia....

I can;t help but LOL over the Australians .. siting "annual reports " I think of "anal " and wounder how they are getting those reports ... just a lighter side .

Most reports and studies on HIV show very low transition between men and women ,, With SP being more aware then the general public and tested regularly , Also just practicing safe sex make all the difference
