Happily Ever After!
I hope so!

Ashton Kutcher is the latest name being mentioned as a possible replacement for Charlie Sheen on “Two and a Half Men.”

According to the trade publication Broadcasting & Cable, “Ashton Kutcher, who starred on Fox’s That 70’s Show from 1998 – 2006, is among the latest stars under consideration.”

A Warner Bros. rep tells Gossip Cop, “We are not commenting on speculation,” and Kutcher’s spokeswoman has yet to get back to us.

The Hollywood Reporter is now saying it’s “all but signed.”

We’re still looking into the claims.

Just yesterday it emerged that Hugh Grant had been in talks to join “Two and a Half Men.”

Is he? All signs point to yes.....

Ashton JUST tweeted this "what's the square root of 6.25?"

Ashton would be cool.

Hugh Grant is a pussy. I have no clue how he is a leading man in Hollywood.

If Charlie ain't coming back, just cancel the show. It was running out of steam this season anyways.
Or if they must, go another direction, with a fat slob as the star. The bearded guy from hangover? Fuck his name?
A pretty boy can't really fill this role.

I honestly dont think ashton is the right guy for the show..... at all. personally, they should end the show, i know some people here dont like sheen, but he was funny in that role, or at the very least defined what that role was. Ashton is not the player type of guy like sheen is, no matter how pretty he is but if they had to replace him i would pick zack as well. at least a better choice than ashton. i will watch the first show just to see how it is, but im pretty sure its going to be a dud.

I was sure this was supposed to be the last season for 2 1/2 men anyway. so why resurrect it? it's done and over.

LMAO...especially with Jake not being cute and funny anymore. The stupid act with him has got old. I was actually throwing around the idea of booting him off the show (got a job as a Door Man in NY) and then have a new kid show up (a kid Charlie produced during a fling). That was before Charlie turned into a total idiot and started LOSING in real life.
Now that might be funny. have him dress like charlie and have the same mannerisms or something. that would be gold.

Happily Ever After!
Its official! They just announced it!

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Acting with an imminent deadline to keep alive a hit comedy after it had been derailed by Charlie Sheen's troubles this season, CBS and Warner Bros. Television said Friday that actor Ashton Kutcher will replace Sheen in "Two and a Half Men."

The show goes into production this summer and will be on CBS' schedule in the fall.

The deal apparently came together quickly, following reports earlier this week that negotiations with film actor Hugh Grant to join the show had fallen through. Kutcher is familiar to television audiences through his role on Fox's "That 70s Show," film roles like the romantic comedy "No Strings Attached" and for producing and hosting the prank show "Punk'd."

A deadline on deciding whether the show would continue was looming with CBS set to unveil its fall schedule to advertisers in New York next Wednesday.
Kutcher is not as well known as Sheen but is 12 years younger and has a huge following of fans who check in on his ever utterance on Twitter. He said Friday he believes that "we can fill the stage with laughter that will echo in viewers' homes.

"I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people," he said.

Kutcher's quote was the only mention of Sheen in Friday's news release. Warner cut short the show's eighth season and fired Sheen two months ago following his public implosion through hard partying and angry criticism of show creator Chuck Lorre.

"We are so lucky to have someone as talented, joyful and just plain remarkable as Ashton joining our family," said Lorre, also the show's executive producer. "Added to that is the deep sigh of relief knowing that our family stays together. If I was any happier, it'd be illegal."

Lorre or CBS executives did not make themselves available to address how Kutcher would be integrated in a show where Sheen's character Charlie Harper was the comic centre, portraying an advertising jingle writer with a playboy lifestyle not unlike the actor's own. Jon Cryer portrays Sheen's brother, and Angus T. Jones plays Cryer's son.

Sheen offered his replacement a welcome on Friday — sort of.
"Kutcher is a sweetheart and a brilliant comedic performer ... Oh, wait, so am I," Sheen said.
"Enjoy the show, America," he said. "Enjoy seeing a 2.0 in the demo every Monday, WB."

Sheen used TV lingo to predict failure for the revamped "Two and a Half Men." He referred to a 2.0 Nielsen Co. rating among the 18-to-49-year-old demographic that advertisers often speak. This season, "Two and a Half Men" averaged a 4.1 rating in that group, so Sheen was suggesting the Kutcher-led show would have half the young audience than it had with him.

Actually, Kutcher might be expected to have a younger following than Sheen and one which could be curious about his new role. The difficulty might be the older makeup of CBS' audience in general, more Sheen's crowd than Kutcher's.

"He's not a star, I don't think, the way Charlie Sheen is," said Brad Adgate, an analyst for the firm Horizon Media. "He's more like a supporting cast."
Still, Adgate said, "it's a hit show and it's something worth trying before you pack it in. You just never know."

Maybe Ashton can come in as a third brother that Eveleyn had kept secret from Charlie and Alan, now that could have some cool scripts.

Ashton doesn't have the star power or the talent to carry that show. Charlie was the show with the others playing support parts on the show. Think of how Charlie was able to walk on to Spin City and bring that show up after MJF had to leave due to illness. Charlie has a talent even though he may be having problems in real life. Ashton is the opposite, he's a good guy in real life but far from a star on TV.

I will still watch it to see how it goes but I don't think it will work.
I agree, I will check it out but likely return to the re-runs for the real deal.
