vasectomy for a young man

I am a young(er) guy and have been contemplating this for some time. I am closing in on 27, and basically I hate children and never want a family. I am very scared of getting a chick pregnant, and paranoia about a gf going off her pill has affected my past relationships. I work in construction (for now) and most guys in my racket are paying off ex-wives and/or paying child support. I never want that shit. Also, like I said, I hate children and don't plan on getting married for a long time if ever. Needless to say, I am on this site so I'm not the most savory individual to begin with. Furthermore, my only sibling has severe autism and I have been advised that if I have a kid there is a high likelihood of autism (nothing wrong with these people I am just saying). I am thinking of setting up an appointment to discuss it with my gp, I doubt he will object to my reasoning. My relatively young age and the fact that I have no kids may be a barrier to getting a doctor to perform it. Anyone have any useful thoughts? I am posting this here because I have no fear of reprisal, as opposed to other places I could pose this question.

The fact you hate children is a great reason you should have a vasectomy. There are too many people who have kids by accident and can't/won't give them the love and attention they deserve. Good for you for recognizing kids aren't for you. I applaud you for your honesty and for doing the right thing.

Options are to switch teams, LAG is thinking of opening up for business, or go see one the dommes that advertises on this site and book a ball kicking session. Really though, if you don't want kids for whatever reason, get snipped. However, if you do meet some woman in the future you want to marry, have the integrity to tell her before hand that kids are out of the picture.

Wow dude. You know, for starters I'm sorry you "hate" children. If you only see children as a liability or "support payments" that says more about you than the kids or the moms that support them. Kids are kids man...anyone that can't love kids for their innocent and blunt ways isn't human (in my opinion). If you don't want children, that's a perfectly fine choice but try not "hating them".

As for you being on this site and equating that to being a less than "savoury" person.....my answer is whatever. This website has it's share of fucking douche bags dude and it's got it's share of regular people. Just because one is a john or a SP does not make them some less than "savoury" person.

My advice to you? RACE out and get your dick fixed. The last thing this world needs is another douche bag like you producing children that cant be a father and continue the cycle of "bitterness and hate". How's that for your reprisal and nope, I dont have an account with the "happy wives of America".

Wow so you attack me because I don't like children? My advice to you is to get a life and keep your opinions with you in your ivory tower. I don't literally hate kids themselves they haven't done fuckall to me, unlike yourself. I know a lot of dads who wouldn't be as open as me about not wanting kids, but are skipping hanging out with theirs because they're too busy doing coke and playing poker. As for being unsavoury I really don't know you or care to, but if you think being on this site is something to brag about to your boss or wife, then you are morally superior to me in a sick way which I have nothing but admiration for.

If you are going to have vasectomy, why don't you store some sperm in the sperm bank just in case you change your mind? Just simple suggestion.

I totally agree. I'll also add that we're over-populating the planet enough as it is, if someone knows they don't want kids they should actually be thanked. lol I know someone who felt the same way and had no problem getting the procedure done. It's not like you're 17. 27 is definitely old enough to make this kind of decision.

K... I gotta say, this is actually one comment that stood out when I read the OP:

Needless to say, I am on this site so I'm not the most savory individual to begin with.

So...
Are you saying that all of us who are on this site are "not the most savory individuals"?
Is it just your participation on this site/in this "hobby" what you feel makes you're not the most savory individual?...or is it something else?

You might not have considered it, but some of us don't actually buy into the idea that this makes us un-savory individuals.

So if this is the only thing that leads you to the conclusion, you might reconsider thinking of yourself negatively because of it - or perhaps not include the rest of us and imply that we are or should feel unsavory. Because, actually, I've been told I'm quite tasty. lol

Getting snipped is no big deal, it's a very quick procedure that is quite painless and takes about five minutes. Before you have the procedure done you will have to schedule a consultation appointment with the surgeon who is performing the operation. He/she will talk to you and ask you a few questions regarding your decision just to ensure you are aware of all the ramifications.

That being said it is possible to have the procedure reversed at some future date. Reversing the procedure can be quite painful and is a much more invasive operation that get it snipped. However, I think that is a fair price to pay for being a dumb ass and making a decision without being 100% sure and wasting valuable medical resources.

I was snipped earlier this year (I'm 40) and it has in no way hindered; my sex drive, ability to get hard, amount of ejaculate, or multiple pops in an evening.

In fact my sex drive has increased these past few months but I think that has to do with a certain amazing lady on here that I have been seeing a lot of and the fact that it's spring and everyone starts to feel randy.

Yup, totally the same. There is no difference after the snip.

Wonder can you have the procedure reversed if you decide later on?
this is wikipedia's answer...

"Although men considering vasectomies should not think of them as reversible, and most men and their spouses are satisfied with the operation,[15][16][17] there is a procedure to reverse vasectomies using vasovasostomy (a form of microsurgery first performed by Earl Owen in 1971[18][19]). Vasovasostomy is effective at achieving pregnancy in only 50%-70% of cases, and it is costly, with total out-of-pocket costs in the United States of approximately $7,000 [20]. The rate of pregnancy depends on such factors as the method used for the vasectomy and the length of time that has passed since the vasectomy was performed. The reversal procedures are frequently impermanent, with occlusion of the vas recurring two or more years after the operation.

Since the body often produces antibodies against sperm, sperm counts are rarely at pre-vasectomy levels. There is evidence that men who have had a vasectomy may produce more abnormal sperm, which would explain why even a mechanically successful reversal does not always restore fertility.[21][22] The higher rates of aneuploidy and diploidy in the sperm cells of men who have undergone vasectomy reversal may lead to a higher rate of birth defects [23]."

In order to allow a possibility of reproduction (via artificial insemination) after vasectomy, some men opt for cryostorage of sperm before sterilization.
