Definitely an embarrassment. I really hope all the idiots who started this were caught on camera and get thrown in jail. At the very least their photos need to be plastered all over the place so people know who they are!!
I was thinking the same thing. The city tried to make it a festive occasion, but there is always a core group of assholes that just want to make trouble.I think it was a big mistake to have outdoor big screen coverage of the game. That just invites more crowds.
Next time the downtown core will be clamped down tight.

I down here in Texas and I'm watching the Sears being looted live on ctv.ca .. why the cops aren't cracking down on these losers is beyond me .. I doubt the average Canadian would think less of the VPD if they showed some strength of force.

Not impressed, rather disgusted and disappointed. Couple of my buddies were downtown, glad they made it home safe. This is ridiculous shit. And I'll bet tomorrow morning there'll end up being outcries of police brutalities in response to the action taken against those that took part in the rioting.
Makes absolutely no sense what so ever to destroy your own city. With the world watching, imagine how much tourism revenue will be lost this summer. It's expected in countries where you have soccer hooligans. But come on, Vancouver one of the prettiest cities in the world.
