Women should mention piercings. If when the door opened and the SP was standing there wearing a bull ring in her nose I'd have to turn around and leave.

Rates: not going to beat a dead horse on that one!

Description - "To thine own self, be true" - in other words, put in your own words what kind of person you are (OK, what kind of person are you pretending to be for a fantasy, lol!) and what you enjoy. Some providers prefer sensual, some prefer action-packed, some enjoy both - I like to know and I adjust my expectations accordingly.

Humor - a little wit/humor goes a long way and to me, means you could be a fun person to be with (assuming we click).

Replacing letters with numbers/symbols - I assume these are done to make it hard to search out the ads, but I find them distracting and borderline immature (eg, you're not "s3xy", you're "sexy". Am I off-base here?)

i see no one has mentioned this?

i want her pics to be honest. so, if you're taking a selfie, please don't just put "mySpace angle" selfies with no (or misleading) body shots. and, please be professional and have good quality/resolution pics. this is 2018, all our phones are capable of decent pics in good interior lighting conditions, i dont want to see pics w/ image quality dating from the Bill Clinton era (EDIT: altho maybe that's a restriction on LL's end? if so, then too bad....do they allow links to third party image hosting services ?)

and i highly recommend any serious or even semi-serious SP to have a website. this builds incredible amounts of cred & trust with your client. it doesn't seem like a scammer. (and make sure your website has your city & dates info , so that we know that it's not a generic scammer website but instead legit)

also i didnt know that publishing rates can get LL into trouble...thanks for the FYI. i always thought these ads without rates were very suspicious.

That is annoying. Maybe they do it to look clever?
Worth noting that ads with a bunch of gibberish like that often have fake pictures too.

I don't want to read War and Peace, but I like a slightly lengthier ad that gives me an idea of personality, that she's got a sense of humour and is intelligent. Before that - the obvious accurate pics, a hint of the price range and a location near enough to not require an all-day investment.

Ad Content and Advertising

IMNSHO there is a lot of misunderstanding and untested assumption about advertising.

The law says advertising is a crime but the worker is immune to prosecution. Catch is, the Conservative bastards didn't define "advertiser" or "advertising". They did say while they were selling the bill in the House of Commons that sex workers would have the same ability to advertise that anyone else has. To me that means that a worker who has control over the content, placement and response to an ad is the only person who can be considered an advertiser in relation to that ad. Anyone else is lawfully providing a service for the advertiser. This will have to be tested in court but it explains why there has been no objection to the ads in Georgia Straight and Now Magazine.

There are cases where someone else has been or would be charged as an advertiser. There have been several charges against agencies where the worker was under age. If a third party composed an ad, placed the ad, answered the phone and made arrangements for the services of an adult worker then that third person could be charged. There would be a gray area between those extremes.

There is nothing in the law to suggest the content of the ad is an issue. A judge will decide if the ad offers sexual services for consideration and it won't matter how explicit or polite it is. That's what judges get paid for. I am guessing that all this self censorship in Canada by workers or publishers is a waste of time. There have been no charges against workers or publishers because the police know they would lose.
