I almost became vegetarian after watching a cattle roping event at Stampede a few years back. You can't tell me the calf doesn't feel its' body being thrown down to ground like that. I can almost accept how we get our meat on the plate but what bugs me are animals used for sport. Animals are euthanized when their legs are broken from such events like Stampede. It seemed like a senseless sport. I guess I have to suck it up and leave it to the fact that humans are higher up on the food chain.

I have no objection to killing animals for food.... that is the nature of the food chain, and if it wasn't us it would be another carnivore who was ripping open their throats.... but the ways in which the are treated and killed is gut wrenchingly disturbing.

I wonder what the process and treatment is like for free-range farmed animals? Do farmers/ranchers who use these practices tend to be more humane and treat them better?

It certainly makes me think about what's on my plate.

Its natural. We are higher in the food chain. So we kill smaller, lower beings. Its done in nature. Why not benefit from it? The people who watch these videos and then turn veggy are wierd. Do you honestly think your going to make a difference? Just one person? So, in 10 years, you might save half a cow. the people who will switch dont eat that much meat anyways. I myself am going to Mortons for dinner tonight, and i plan on eating a delicious, huge steak. But Thats me.

I think the point is - even if it's only one person switching off a light, re-using plastic bags or not eating meat - it has to start somewhere. One becomes two, etc etc. It also also a peace-of-mind feeling that at least you aren't furthering whatever practices you disagree with.

Oh I'm still a meat eater. It just blew me away the practices of some facilities. I don't know if the practices in the video are a standard practice in the industry or not. Thats what I was curious of. Hell, I can't imagine life without steak. Eating carrots and veggies for the rest of my life would be the shits.

You know what people....I'm alittle surprised to some of the responses here on this..no sympathy here.....don't attack me ....I'm not attacking anyone here.....just commenting. You are right.....Animals are part of our food chain and it is a choice to eat it or not.
What I didn't like about this......and it really bothered me ....was the way abuse and punishment the animals went through!!! I don't like that one bit!!
That's fuckin Bullshit I'm sorry!!
I'm sure they can show alot more compassion in this and avoid the torture!! Fuck...animals have feelings too from what you've seen and heard!

I'm sorry...but I had to say that.

I am not watching it.

I don't need to see something I have been aware of for the 12 years I haven't eaten meat.

I am an animal lover, eating meat is part of the food chain. I agree.

The primary reason I don't eat meat is the treatment of animals in these cases. Not because I feel it's wrong, but the practices of meat producers. Am I making a difference? Probably not, but I try.

humans arent meant to eat meat

http://www.garynull.com/ One of this guys clients is Susan Surrandon(milf). Shes in her sixties and hasnt hit menopause yet. I think Gary knows his food......

Your digestive track is about 8x longer than that of any meat eating creature on earth. By the time an animal passes (shits)out the meat it has started to rott. By the time you have a bowel movement that meat has been rotting, decaying inside you for a few hours.

Just search anything Gary Null, or naturopathic

what goes around comes around. we the human race will be treated eventually the same way we knowingly mistreat our fellow mammals.
