Do comedy skit shows count? I can think of some characters from Kids In The Hall, In Living Color, and Monty Python's Flying Circus to be added to that list.

1. George Costanza - Seinfeld
2. Latka Gravas - Taxi
3. Coach - Cheers
4. Larry David - Curb your Enthusiasm
5. Seven of Nine - Star Trek Voyager (had to have at least one hot chick on my list) ;)

Honourable mention to Archie Bunker, Al Bundy and Homer Simpson who I left off my list so as not to be the same as everyone else.

Sorry folks, ...I just can't resist giving you a few choice lines from 1992.

Hank Kingsley: [giving a tour] And if you stop by here, you can say hello to my good friend, Larry Sanders.
[knocks]
Hank Kingsley: Hey now, Larry.
Larry: Fuck off, Hank.
Hank Kingsley: [getting back to tour] And over here...

Homer Simpson is KING, but nobody mentioned Norm Peterson (George Wentworth?).

I'm a big fan of Ralph Wiggum, too ("When I grow up I want to be either a principal, or a caterpillar...")!

Thanks for the reminders folks, I have to add an "honourable" mention list:

Archie Bunker
Frank Costanza (Jerry Stiller)
Coach from Cheers (thinking of the episode where he would fall down stairs to meet women and the one where he took the baseball on the noggin)
Cliff Clavin - Cheers
Bubbles - Trailer Park Boys

Jack Benny

Wayne and Shuster (Red Skelton was my fave but he's been mentioned)

Harvey Korman and Tim Conway (Carol Burnette Show)

Desi Arnez (Lucy was the best, but Desi had his moments)

Redd Foxx (some good lines)

Ricky Gervais -- the office
John Cleese -- faulty towers
Carol O'conner -- all in the family
Gary shandling -- the larry sanders show
Larry David -- Curb your Enthusiam

The entire cast of Sienfeld -- the show really was the sum of its parts.

Major Charles Emerson Winchester III, Harvard '43, head of thoracic surgery at Boston General. Brilliantly played by David Ogden Stiers. Oh....that was on M*A*S*H of course.
