There is a post in CL from an SP warning and advising all to get tested for gonorrhea infection. I guess this is bad news for everyone who does/receives anything bareback!?! Shit, I don't like this!!!

I don't know where this thread should go so I posted here... if it should be else where, let me know.

I am a SP who provides "gfe" services to men upon request for additional fee.

I have recently been diagnosed with the gonorrhea bacteria in my throat.

If you are a man who has received bbbj, you should get tested.

Ladies, if you perform bbbj, please also get tested.

We are an interconnected community. Let's all do our part to keep it clean

Sadly, I believe gonorrhea in the throat is quite common.

and commonly goes undiagnosed, since it resembles a lingering sore throat

Of course, while all of the above is true, it is also equally likely that this is just some BS from a SP who doesn't do BBBJ and is trying to get some business away from those who do.

Remember what a mess CL is, with all the SP flagging wars etc going on...
No doubt there is some monkey business happening on CL
and I can see you are playing devil's advocate to balance the argument

But to be dismissive
of such an important and relevant issue can be very harmful
as we then promote a culture of ignorance

So should we discourage an SP in her position
to come out in what little way she can afford?

So should she just keep that knowledge to herself?

As I can see it can being a terrible situation for her
to come forth publicly
and suffer shame unfairly in public judgement
(even judged with skeptism & contempt regarding her intent)

she did not come to be infected all by herself

why must we lay blame on anyone?
when we better serve our community
by collectively acting responsibly

I am surprised & saddened you would post this jjinvan, as I had regarded you an intelligent & responsible man :(

As far as I can tell from the post she did not come out publicly and she has not provided any info as to who she is. Just a generic description of some girl who provides certain services for extra money.

No Sp is suffering any public shame or unfair judgement from this post.

It is just a generic post telling guys and girls providing/receiving bbbj's to get tested. A topic that has been discussed to death and comes up every month or so.

Another bbbj thread but yes, xoxo Amie, you are so right, it is truly important and relevant.

My only problem with the thread is that I feel sometimes when I read the health threads on here that we rely a bit too much on one another for health advice...like "ok just do this and you'll be safe from that". It somewhat gives a false sense of security though I do believe that alot of what is said here is useful and positive. We are not doctors and giving one another medical advice can be risky.

I believe, just for me personally, that it is really important for the lovely ladies who choose this line of work to have a consistent and on-going relationship with their doctors because trust me, it took me a crazy long time and alot of strange situations (we won't go INTO the story about the Doc who gave be the boobie exam five minutes after meeting me), to click with a doctor and get honest. Some docs you just don't click with and you just don't want to say "yeah I'm an escort....can you check out my poonanie now???'" It's a turn off as well it should be if the dude OR female doc turns out to be creepy or judgemental. I feel really lucky to have a great doctor....she even invited me to her wedding!:) Love her to bits.

There is no shame in the hobby or what we do. The best thing I think is to a) find a really solid doctor b) tell them what your hobby/profession is and c) if something does occur out of the ordinary to not be scared to investigate.

I think as long as we are honest and maintain the boundaries we are comfortable with within the hobby, we will all be safer. Knowledge is power and the ladies out there do get tested (though some don't). BBBJ offers of not, there are no guarntees in life. The safest girl out there with her rubbing alchohol spritzer and her rubber gloves could contract HIV through the breakage of a condom. I think finding out your status is really your only way to go.

That said, I get a strange vibe from Craigslist. It does seem like people have agendas on there but that's just my opinion. I don't generally even know how to navigate it properly.....

Play as safe as you want and have FUN!

I was suggesting that she may have felt unable to come out publicly

so she chose the anonymity of CL
to broadcast her message

I think....

...because this IS the internet and what is said should ALWAYS be taken with a very large (not that size matters:)), grain of salt, the issue here is that we can all agree that it is important to know your risks and be tested. Even if the girl is not infected it is still a great reminder of what is out there and the importance of the vigilance that we have in our health care being that we are all in the same hobby.

Then again, I'm not Dr.Tiffany...I'm more like the "Head" nurse:):)!

If she was really so altruistic etc, she should have posted her picture and said that anyone who she gave a BBBJ to recently should go get TREATED (not tested) because the tests have quite a high false negative rate anyway.

If you show up at the hospital and say "My girlfriend got tested positive for XX and I have had unprotected sex with her" they do test you but even if the test is negative, you get the meds anyway...
Exactly I would say if this was a true courageous post by an SP it would have gone something like the following: I'm ____ and I have tested positive for ____ , if you have seen me recently you should get treated. I will not be available for X time and will probably not be providing ____ services in the future.

This CL post is useless and is just once again telling people involved in BB services to get tested. It provides no other info than that

I'm sorry Aimee, please correct me if I'm wrong, how would I or anyone else know she is speaking to me. How does this anonymous message reach the target or known audience.

If this is a true post this SP has done a huge disservice to her clients by not informing them directly or by identifying herself so that they can get treated. This is just another BBBJ's are bad so everyone please get tested thread. BTW I don't believe the post in the first place.
