Anyone ever receive threatening texts by some dude from Leolist?

I ignored and deleted the text and went on with my day but the message was along the lines of
“This is (John, can’t remember exactly) from Leolist.
We have received complaints from advertising escorts about you.
We know who you and your family are and will be taking legal action against you and your family unless you pay a substantial fee.”

Looks like you got randomly lucky to have been graced by the presence of a scammer.

Leo list will never message you, let alone threaten you. This has been posted about so many times people saying they are from Leo list or some agency or represent an escort demanding for money. They find your phone number likely from you replying to an ad, usually a fake one, then they message with threats and/or blackmail. These people know nothing about you and you just need to block and ignore them.

80% of the ads on LL these days are some kind of version of a scam or fake. If you catch on and refuse to fall for it, or insult them or otherwise stand up for yourself, you will get these threats, from fake numbers or random emails. Just like the ads, they are just another scam. Some of the more ambitious ones will even try to call you. There's a story elsewhere on the net about a guy getting one of these calls, threatening his family. He explained his background, with many years in the JTF (Canada's special forces) and invited the guy to come for a visit to show him how tough he was. The bluster disappeared and the caller hung up.

Phone number ends in 6384. Tries to call shortly after the text.

Block/delete
I think most of these scams use a similar script. The one I got was written by more of an edge Lord but I went to reddit and it sounds like this is super common.
Messages will always be vague so you wont have any idea who may have sent them your way. Could be worse guy that sent mine was threatening to send a hit man after a wife and children I don't have

Identical to the text I have.
Told him that I sent his number to the cops and to go fuck himself!
Didn’t get a response.
Also saw a missed call from that same number.
Has anyone ever answered and heard him speak?
Best not to entertain communicating with them. Best to let them think you blocked them, were using a spoofed number, or changed your number.
Might feel good telling them off but that just encourages them to provide your number to other scammers using a different approach (gov, bank, utilities).
