The Cambie isn't the bar on Cambie and 12th just across the street from the Fitness World is it?

I think it's the one on Cambie and Cordova in gastown. Correct me if I'm wrong.

There was a bar on Cambie and 12th right across the street from the mall where Fitness World was. I'd gone there many times before but I never knew what it was actually named.

Remembered one New Years Eve we were looking for a place for a drink and walked into the Cambie, dresses top the nines and we walked in and everyone in there turned around and looked at us and we knew that this wasn't the place for us. We turned around and got out of there.

Wendy from the Cobalt is now running Funky Winkerbeans and yeah Wendy was notorious (at the old cobalt) not giving a fuck about ID but new place is different. I remember making out with some chick there and then finding out she was 15 WTFWTF goddamnit isn't this a bar 19+ lol

Cambie is a great place to get hosed on cheap piss, hook up with foreign exchange students and score weed outside. If you want a hipster bar go to the Alibi room in Gastown, also keefer bar is good, black frog in gastown, morrissey on granville was good no idea now.

If you want supreme terrifying experience of the old school Ivanhoe/Old American go to the Country Bar on hastings and abbott. Leave all valuables at home

Oh god, I forgot about Wendy. She's running Funky's? That explains why the punk crowd on my fb who used to frequent the Cobalt are now at Funky's. I guess the karaoke there is great and my buddies metal bands are always there...

Karaoke is epic human theatre with them serving $2 caribou which is basically liquid fire in your head.

Some great times at the Cambie. That stupid fence! Two different liquor licenses under one roof - hilarious. Not their fault but wtf?

I got laid many times from that place in me teens (older brothers ID worked like a charm). Definitely not the prettiest girls I've ever had. Mainly slumpbusters - bless em!

Got crabs once from a big fat one with dreadlocks. I seriously think the crabs came from the dreads on her head, not her crotch! Now that's a durty girl!

I'm not sure what night's you've been there but from what I've seen it's usually gutter trash. Like under-age surrey girls or east van hoodrats.
Sometimes there's a hipster crowd that's tolerable or a punk crowd that's fun. But generally I hate the people at the Cambie...loud, drunk, obnoxious with bad clothes, bad manners and worse makeup.
I prefer the Keefer bar to most places in Van.

Funny thing is that I much prefer the food at the Cambie to the food at the Keefer...the Greek salad at the Cambie is GREAT!

TAKES ALL SORTS TO KEEP THIS WORLD SPINNING ROUND !!!!!! and the loud drunk obnoxious with bad clothes bad manners and worse make up pour into many different establishments---- and those that sometimes end up in "HIGHER END PLACES" are even worse with attitude because somehow they feel entitled to be treated a certain way.... when in fact they are not special at all but rather just a pack of spoiled brats.....

I have been to the cabie so many times.... In my younger years.. The people there are pretty chill . Its a no fuss no muss type of hang out with decent music...

Then again, it's like that everywhere. Really, what's the point of bars? I don't know about you guys, but I actually want to have sex with girls, not just look without being able to touch.
