Less ethical are those people that dangle bits of yarn (without the peanut) in front of cats and kittens. Sometimes even fake mice on a string. I'm having a hard time seeing whats wrong with it. All they are doing is making the little beggars put some effort into getting their free lunch. To me it's no different then when they snack from my birdfeeders. In order to get the seeds, they have to hang upside down, throw themselves at the feeder from the trunk, scale down the long one as it gets empty, etc. I find the lengths they go to for a free meal kind of funny sometimes

Finally the voice of reason! Anyone who knows me is clearly aware that I can't tolerate animal abuse but IMO this doesn't really qualify. They're not hurting or tormenting the little squirrels. Not being trapped or cornered so if the squirrels didn't like what was going on I'm sure he'd scurry away.

As for PETA....FUCK PETA! They're a useless bunch of self serving cock suckers who lie and manipulate facts to the extreme. If you see an animal being abused call your local SPCA.

Actually he is just holding the string, his paw is not caught on it. He has the peanut in his mouth and he is pulling on the string to try and break it free. Look between his paw and mouth you can see the line of the string and the tail of the knot is hanging out of his mouth. It's difficult to see on my newer laptop, but I have no problem picking it out on my piece of crap, outdated desk top.
