Yeah, I've been getting screwed all along...I thought getting screwed was the whole purpose of PERB?
Oh sorry dear, I'm a little south west of you. It was meant as a joke, it's funny to me that guys actually text you things like that. I normally try to be a bit more subtle.Um, ok, so it's a monday, please bear with me....Aren't you from edmonton??? The what the hell direction is that? Or is yours programmed like google maps to think that someplace random downtown is just Edmonton??
Yeaaaaah, k, i'm done heh
In my case, actually yes. This is the exact thing that freaks me out. While I can understand the motivation to call letting the person know you are held up but it doesn't change the fact that shit would literally hit the fan if someone were to call. I have to say my privacy has to be the main detractor to my "pooning".I have had instances where I've been stuck in traffic, or delayed a bit and have to contact the client to let him know. Would you prefer to feel foolish standing at the door buzzing and think I've no-showed you?
I don't quite get the safety attached to an unblocked number when it comes to a cell phone. If you can get a pay as you go and not have to attach any personal information to activate it, how does an sp having that number offer her any security? So it seems you're set on not getting another phone for the hobby. This is obviously your answer yet you can't see how easy it is.
You don't need to carry it, you can hide it somewhere and only keep it with you when you're wanting to make the calls and when you're on your way to your appointment.
Being in this hobby does require that you take some risks. When done right, you'll be rewarded very well and get what you're seeking safely.
You can't possibly expect someone to go way out of her safety zone for you unless perhaps she doesn't care at all about herself, (think about that hard) or has some ideas about doing something to you that isn't in your plan.
There is an industry standard that, when followed, works very well. When you decide you want to go outside that, you are inviting in all kinds of other issues which are far more dangerous and risky.
Good luck to you, but honestly, I don't think you're at all ready for this hobby.

Thanks NinaI don't actually believe it adds much in the way of security, but it IS a show of good faith by the client.
This in and of itself is a very important factor for us.
No show of faith, means there is likely something wrong. And that means no appointment. Even if what's wrong is that the potential client is very nervous and paranoid. These, along with the fact that he refuses to do one of the things necessary to show the sp that he's trustworthy, tells me that he is going to be a difficult date, tough to connect with and perhaps even antisocial or in one way or another.
It's about etiquette, being polite. It's really quite simple, actually..
