Who loves it, who hates it, who doesn't care?

I almost always keep my hair up because otherwise with all the oil I have to wash it too often and it is bad for it to wash it that much but those of you who have seen it down know my hair is really long, like more than halfway down my back.

I'm considering chopping it all off and donating it to one of those charities that make wigs for cancer patients. Of course this is not completely self-less...I'm also getting tired of my long hair and usually wear it up in my social time as well because I'm sick of styling it. I haven't decided yet because I haven't had short hair for about 6 years and I am not sure if the grown up me would look good with it. Plus long hair seems to be in right now.

So just contemplating...

It's all good.

It all depends on how a woman feels about her hair. If your thinking about a shorter style then you should go for it.
If it makes you feel good, sexy or whatever .... the good vibes will be passed onto those around, go for it!:)

Quality, not quantity.
Do it!

I personally think that short hair is super sexy as long as you can hold it properly! You are very slim (and beauitiful I will add!) so I think a short cut would be great on you! Lots of women in the public eye have recently gone short and look hot. Katie Holmes and her gorgeous bob and Victorica Beckhams V hair cut thats longer in the front is cute too!

Go for it girl!!!

I sported the Victoria Beckham Pixie cut for a few years, and loved it. It's funny how it's now this 'new' style just because an ex spice girl decides to cut her hair short, it's kind of silly because there is nothing new about it. lol
I loved how low maintenance it was, wash and go, but always looked styled. It took me about 5 minutes to style it and it would stay in place and look great all day. I haven't had it quite that short for a while now but have still preferred shorter hair for a long time; I had mine down to my elbows until I graduated and just decided to chop it off chin-length, and have always had it short since then. I've always found it fun to be able to change it up when I get bored, and when my hair gets longer, I always get really bored with it and always found there's so much much more I can do with short hairstyles.. Right now it's a little below my shoulders and it has been driving me up the wall! To each their own, really. :)

Although - having said all this, it is VERY hard to find a stylist willing/able to do anything interesting in Vancouver - when it comes to short hair. There does not seem to be many people out here who experiment with hairstyles, so it's really hard to find someone who is willing to, and who can. I have had REALLY bad experiences here in Vancouver, and eventhough I do have one girl I trust, I still tend to hold out and prefer to wait for my visits home to get my hair cut. The problem is that, depending on the hair style I choose, sometimes monthly visits (or 2 months if the stylist knows what she/he's doing) are the only way to keep it looking good.

I've always found it a fun way to change up your style.

But it depends what you mean by 'short'; there are a lot of variations and A LOT of different short hair styles, with different pros and cons... You would have to be more specific! ;)

Long hair is one of the most beautiful & feminine things a woman can have in my opinion.

Especially those who have dark long hair!!!

You, my dear, are blessed to have it!

I would STRONGLY advise that you keep it but that is my selfish opinion as I think all women who have nice hair should wear it long.

I've dated 2 ladies with long dark or black hair & I just think it is DAMN SEXY!!!!

Nuthin like a woman running her long hair along my naked body!
:p

My ex wife had long hair (unfortunately not dark) & it was very thin so it tangled easily, I used to comb it & untangle it for her nightly because that was the only way I could convince her to keep it long.

So, if it helps, I will offer my services to care for yo hair!

;)

Just my way of saying - Keep it!

;)

Halle Berry is the most over-rated woman on the planet. She looks so average. Tyra Banks kicks her ass.

my hair is down to my elbows too and because I swim before school, it's a pain in the ass to dry it etc.

HOWEVER, go with what you feel and play around in the mirror, manipulating your hair to look like it's short. This may sound silly, but once you chop off THAT much hair it's like losing a part of you. Sometimes, depending on the circumstances, you will feel liberated, other times you will feel lost.

I want to cut mine for convenience purposes, but I know I will regret it so i'll put up with it!

Maybe you can go in between? Maybe cut a few inches first, just below your shoulders n see how that goes.

Here is MY HONEST opinion Katlyn:

I think you would suit short hair...only to a certain length.

With your thin structure, defined cheek bones, and small lips I can see you pulling off short hair if it's voluminous :)

This look would not flatter you-

This look would definitely look amazing on you however-

LOL And I was going to add:

- Be prepared for most men to tell you not to cut it.
- Be prepared not to care, or don't cut it short-short. lol

Short-short hair makes you kinda fearless. lol People always look when you walk by or enter the room, because it takes guts to chop it all off, and it takes confidence to make it work.

There are some guys who find short hair hot, and I think, are impressed by a girl who isn't afraid to just do it.

But of course, there are many men who will honestly tell you they prefer long hair or even dislike short hair.. it depends how much your looks are determined by what others think, really. Depends how much you care.

And then, of course there will be the few knobs with their lesbo comments, to which you should always agree, and thank god you don't have to put up with them, and whatever other dumb comments they would come up with.

Wess- your comments in the past couple of days (no idea before that, haven't checked) make you sound like such a keeper. Get out of your mamma's basement once in a while, will ya.

The butchy comment is kinda stupid. A butchy girl looks butchy with short or long hair.

If your going to insinuate that im basement trash then i will need to defend myself. Im self employed, and i sure as hell dont live at home.

I have an attitude that might not go over well with nice girls like you.

This is a forum on the internet, not Starbucks.

care to explain what that means?
I think he is insinuating that because this is a review forum..he is allowed to come off as an arrogant ass behind the protection of his anonymity as opposed to being face to face with you in a public Starbucks where he cannot hide :p

I can't believe how evenly the poll is split! Cool.

Actually this is part of the problem. My hair is really thin and this job has completely destroyed it. It's now in such bad shape that when I do brush it, it is tangled within a few minutes again.

my hair is down to my elbows too and because I swim before school, it's a pain in the ass to dry it etc.

I've done the long to ultra short before and you're right, it is like loosing a part of yourself. Bit hard to take but I also thrive on change so after a few days I've liked it. I've been thinking that as long as I don't cut it too short, if I really hate it, I can get extensions...

You are so right! Now, when I wear my hair up I make it so it is voluminous and kind of messy all over. I like that first photo in the second group and also the first photo in the first group. I should go get one of those hair cut magazines and see if I can find something I like.

DONT GET EXTENSIONS!!! I think those are the grossest thing ever and it's SOOO obvious on girls!!! Some of them get the WORST job EVER and it looks like they have a female mullet

If u have an iphone there is an app that lets u take a pic of urself and puts different hairstyle on your face. i'm sure there are also some on the internet! Try it out and good luck!
