Reputations

Does anybody know how this "adding to reputation" button works? Is it new, I never saw it before. In a post, It's right beside the little green light that shows if a person is logged on. I just filled one out but it basically just said thanks and hopefully someone will add to my reputation.
Again, is this something new? Mine says I have 10 points, whoo hoo.

Someone added to my reputation as well for one of the articles I wrote. There's a comment left by the gracious member but there's doesn't seem to be a way to see who wrote the comment

If you put your cursor over the tiny green box below your info it says "you are on a distinguished road". If you click on the reputation thing-a-majiggy it will tell you how many points you have.

BTW, I'm curious about the description below your handle, what does multiorgamic mean, lol.

I think 10 points is the default setting, mine says 10 points too.

I belong to a couple other boards that use the rep system. On the one you click your user cp to view the rep comments etc. on the other board you can't see the comments. Depends how they have it set up......

Thanks for the heads up HB40. It's embarrassing how many typos and spelling mistakes I make sometimes. I still don't see how you find out who left the comments for you when you give you reputation points.

I don't know either, my points are going up but I don't know where from or why. I just want to know if this was a feature all along and I just missed it.

First off I'm indifferent to the whole rep thing, I don't really care one way or the other if they are used here or not. If I'm not sure about a poster I'll read a few of their past posts to get a idea of what there are all about.

I really hope we don't end up with little cliques repping each other just for the fun of it like the other place. The whole thing seemed like an 8th grade popularity contest.

Not a rant or a bitch just an opinion.

To view rep points (thanks Anna and HB40!) go to User CP and scroll down-- you'll see it right there, along with comments. Haven't yet found where the point total is tallied though...

I took a break from the forums for a bit and noticed this the other day. On the other site, I used to be able to see whom I've given rep points to and there was a record of the comments that were left. I can't seem to find anything similar in my user CP here. Or am I missing it?
