Prospercity owner in trouble

VANCOUVER (CP) -- For the first time, charges have been laid under a new piece of federal legislation designed to combat human trafficking.

The charges under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act follow a lengthy investigation involving Vancouver police, the RCMP and the Canadian Border Services Agency.

Wai Chi 'Michael' Ng, 41, of Vancouver has been charged with human trafficking in the case. He faces 21 charges.

The investigation began last May when Vancouver police responded to a call of an assault outside a Vancouver massage parlour.

At that time, Ng was charged under the Criminal Code for bringing two women from China into this country and forcing them into prostitution.

Ng appeared in provincial court Wednesday but was released on bail with strict conditions.

Actually, that place was called King Massage when it was shutdown. I know it's Prosper City's second location now but not sure if this Michael Ng guy is the owner.

I wouldn't be surprised if the info wasn't correct. I saw on the "news" showed prospercity, but they of course forgot to mention it wasn't prospercity at the time. the news people in this city sensationalize things and forget about keeping the facts straight.

News outlets today are carrying a story of charges against a Michael Ng, who is accused of human trafficing. Mr. Ng was the owner of King City Accupressure & Massage located at 2263 Kingsway in Vancouver.

Mr. Ng sold the business to Prosper City's owner, who had no knowledge of Mr. Ng's alleged activities and who has absolutely no connection or relationship with Mr. Ng.

Upon the transfer of ownership, the store's name was changed to Prosper City. Prosper City does not condone in any way the alleged activities that Michael Ng is charged with."

From Sonny: Prosper's owner is not in any way involved in any of the police charges. Prosper City is doing business as usual in both locations.

So what's worse? Buying a place that got busted by police or buying a place from a person with a same last name that got busted by police?
