Get the facts!

Look, the cops know what is going on in this world, and are not after legit ladies running a licensed business. Your grapevine is full of this BS and other interesting fabricated stories, but what you believe is your business. Just remember, if you haven't seen it with your own eyes, it ain't worth repeating. There are a lot of bullshiters out there; you've just been victimized by one of them.

What cops are doing out there:

1. Maintaining a presence to protect street workers from serial rapists.

2. Looking for illegal immigrants who are flown in from the Far East, having agreed to pay ridiculous amounts of money ($40K plus) to be enslaved into repaying the snakeheads that brought them here by working long hours, under the worst possible conditions.

3. Looking for illegal substances that are prevalent in this business, and are also used in #2 to enslave the poor girls even further.

4. Looking for underage girls working in this business.

Any police representative would be more than happy to verify what I have just written, and show you the relevant facts and stats.

You should talk to your local LE; your taxes pay for them, now ask them to inform you.

All this fear about policemen and women has created these giant myths that have no substance whatsoever.

IF you're arrested, it's a matter of public record. You don't get arrested anonymously. As well as local papers "posting" it, well, if your arrest makes for an amusing or interesting anecdote, sure you might make the paper. But otherwise, another guy getting arrested for solicitation isn't really news. So, if you're arrested don't resist and run down a downtown street with your pants around your ankles and a fleet of cop cars in tow. Media might take an interest in that one.

Sending a letter to your wife? I think you're getting confused with when the principal would send a letter to your parents when you were bad at school. No, a letter would not be sent to your wife. A letter would likely be sent to you...all official looking, notifying you of court dates. She might ask what that is. But, otherwise, it is a matter of public record and she'd likely have to bail you out, and there'd be a court dates and correspondence, etc. She'd likely find out about it.

LE's mandate is to keep a lid on street level prostitution. Targetting other levels risks pushing girls back on the street. Unless there's larger legal issues involved or complaints, they simply do not have the resources nor interest to go looking for horny guys.

Let's not confuse the Canadian situation with the American situation. What shyspy describes happens in the US. How often, I'm not sure. Maybe only for TV shows to be put on during sweeps week for all I know. Yhe legal situtaion in Canada is quite different. There are some municipalities which continue to bust 'Bawdy houses" but once a couple are in a private place (residence, hotel room, etc, not including your car), any exchange of sex for money is not illegal. Posting names in the paper after such a sting would open the cites to lawsuits which most can't or won't afford.

(don't blame Canada, YOU voted them in)

Some owners, particularly the Asian variety, simply cannot the resist the temptation to lower their costs by "importing" ladies from China or Korea. Trouble is the ladies involved have been duped into thinking they are coming over here to work as a nanny, or in a restaurant. They spend the next two weeks or more crying their hearts out after finding out the real reason. Meanwhile they are lambasted and slapped around by the mamasan into submission, being vociferously reminded they can't go home until the $40K is paid up.

Think about that boys, the next time you want to unload your jism in an illegal micro...

Being busted is the only relief they can hope for!

If you are going to say that the gals in the micros are mislead when they are brought over then enslaved then tell us which ones they are so we can bypass them. In my experience the micros are staffed by:
gals that can't compete in HK
gals that know that they can make more money here than in China
students that come over and underestimate the costs of living and studying here and choose to stay instead of going home.
and like most of the other gals, just want to make more money

I agree some are doing this with their eyes wide open, and under the very conditions you describe, Fatman. What I am attacking is the grey element. This systemic problem not only affects the massage business, but other areas of the economy, even mundane office jobs. The recruiting that takes places under the cover of student visas, serves many industries, but is most callous and open to abuse in the sex industry. Success, the immigrant assistance group is working hard to curtail these abuses, and is better equipped with relevant stats than I will ever be.

Thanks for your comment!

From the Urban Dictionary...

1. jism

1. A nutritional liquid which eminates from the end of the male organ after stimulation. 2. A tasty snack. 3. Nectar of the wanker.

"Sally drinks jism."
"Sally blew the football team and swallowed all of their jism."
"Sally's skin is so young looking, she must be getting a regular dose of jism in her diet."

More definitions can be found here...

Some of what has previously been said is in my opinion partially correct.

To use the scenario that you have described there is no risk of being charged since you have not done anything illegal. Prostitution is not against the law in Canada only some associated acts mainly procuring and solicitation. Procuring involves one or more of the following:
-living off the avails (pimp)
-operating a common bawdy house (madam)
-turning someone out
It should also be noted that the procuring laws also apply and can be enforced on Canadians for activities they have been part of abroad. Solicitation is effectively the only CC charge that can be brought against the prostitute themselves and then only when the offence is committed in the CC's interpretation of a "public place". This is also the CC charge most often brought against johns who are busted during street stings.

If you are a john who gets charged with solicitation most jurisdictions in Canada offer an alternative measures program for first time offenders. This "john school" gives the person the opportunity to circumvent the courts, and potential for a criminal record, by attending a group session where they are informed of the darker elements of prostitution (i.e. drugs, STD's, community problems). If someone were to go to court instead of the "john school" or if it was a repeat offence keep in mind that its a summary charge (Canadian version of a misdemeanor) and unless there are compounding circumstances you will likely receive a conditional or absolute discharge. The matter of having a john's name published by media is in my opinion very remote. To start, the liable laws provide the person named with a very real opportunity to seek financial reparations. Beyond the financial concerns there is very little to be gained for a newspaper or TV station to name an average citizen. The greater concern is to have assets (mainly your vehicle) seized as a result of a solicitation charge. Manitoba has a reasonably successful (based on their definition of success) program that since its implementation has reduced their street level prostitution. Outside legal concerns of street prostitution a more likely risk to the john is the potential to be called as a witness in the event of an agency or massage parlor bust.
