For those interested, some current work is being done using neutron scattering techniques to gain more insight into the mechanism viruses use to infect hosts.
Viruses change structure at the temperature of the human body to better infect us – Physics World
Heady read but the executive summary would end with something like "the overall temperature helps the virus to become more fluid allowing it to more easily infect its host".
So there is something to the effect of cooling the host to minimize the infection. All this needing a lot more research to come to a definitive conclusion.

Re the original topic here, the latest covid mutation is pretty big with numbers rivaling those during the mid time period of SARS2 infections. Current vaccinations and for those lucky enough to have inherent immunity all are effective against this strain but .... if you have a cold, probably advisable to do a RAT to give you an indicator if you might have covid or not.

Cheers all and stay safe you studly studs you.

Recently, my GP finally got covid....after being "lucky" since the pandemic started. He was vaccinated along with the flu shot in October, but it really kicked his ass, hard.
