I have been doing some genealogical research and came up with an interesting lady in our history. In Victorian England she was recorded to be "a vile creature",you see she was a working girl, in fact in the 1860's she ran 3 brothels in a small English town. Now a craft brewery is paying homage to the prostitutes of her time producing Craft beers that speak of their character. I thought I might give some suggestions as to how one of our local breweries could celebrate our local ladies. Here is how I would review my top 3 in Craft beer parlance. First, Liliah, she could be represented by "Sweet Peachy Cider - Extra 7%" She is a real peach, sweet to the core, smooth, crisp, clear, satisfying, but definately packs a punch like an extra strong cider should. A real refreshment! Second would be an "Alicia Foxxy Farmhouse Ale". If you have ever had a Sophie out of Goose Island Beer Company you will know what I mean! Here is how it is described "Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons. " Here is a lady who fits the description to a T. And, this is a beer that gets better with age I just know that will be the case with Alicia. Finally, there is Devlin.."Devils brew spicy cherry, mocha porter" This would be a dark, complex mixture of Chocolate, Coffee, Cherries and Chili. Smooth yet sweet, full flavoured followed by a kick of chili. This beer has something for everyone with the spicy hit that shouldn't be so good but ohmy! Who says you can't put a redhead in a bottle.
