I switched to Telus in Septmember and never had any problems with their service, but lately I continually lose my connection to the server. I am wondering if anyone else with Telus is experiencing the same problem or whether not it is just me. Thanks in advance.

where are you? they may be having specific service area problems and you can phone and find out ... if they do continue then DO phone them because sometimes they need X number of calls before they act ...

I went through this a while ago and it took two weeks to fix because no one else called in -- they kept saying that it had to be me because no one else called to report problems ... then the whole system area went down and they got lots of calls and it got fixed.

It happens to me once in a while. Usually, I unplug my modem and then its ok. I hate when that doesn't work and I have to call for tech report. First, they usually start by telling me that they don't support a router, so before I can start, I have to disconnect my router and connect directly to my computer. By the end of the service call I usually end up calling him an idiot and ask how he got a job in tech support.
Since this is starting to sound like a rant, I will stop now.

Yes, about 2 weeks ago I was having connection problems for several days straight. I kept rebooting, shutting off my modem and resetting my IP address, but to no avail. I didn't bother calling Telus' tech support because I know they are about as useless as a second asshole.

...I had same problem all of yesterday. The Telus hotline stated that high speed service for most of BC was being interrupted, and they were woking on it. blah, blah, blah.

Yesterday was the worst it's been in weeks, and I do notice this problem has been ongoing for about the past 3-4 weeks. If you're a customer, keep calling and complaining, maybe a few thousand threats of switching to cable would get their attention.

Have you considered Cable?

I put up with Telus' ADSL for three years and pretended my problems with it were less worse than what Cable users were going through with their bandwidth issues. They were, but Cable improved over time and surpassed Telus' service; so I switched. It was superior at first, but lately has been acting up. Maybe their bandwidth is getting crowded in my neighbourhood - could be their way to steer you towards their Extreme package. The connection never goes down mind you, but it slows down at times. Consider how seldomly your Cable TV connection goes down, and you'll have an idea about Cable's reliability; when your TV works, so does the Internet. Certainly better than what I went through with Telus though, with downtime sometimes lasting two days or longer. Some neighbours nearby are on Telus and they tell me their connections still suck. I hear Bell has ADSL now, so I may take a look at that. But since they are not local, they may just be renting wire from Telus.

I hooked up with telus ADSL about a year + ago, only to have this gal call e and tell me my rate is jumping to 39.99 infact has already kicked in.. I said thanks very much lady!

She later told me that I dont pay enough for my house line ... b/c i yanked the long distance plan, yet I still pay bout 90 per month to telus + 2 mobility phones..

Do I have another good option that is painfree for setting up ? any suggestions?
