How can you tell the difference between fake and real apparel? I know someone who is trying to sell some Lacoste shirts for a cheap price but I have a feeling they maybe really good knockoffs. Does anyone know how I can tell the difference? Also how do you tell the diff between real and fake LV stuff???

Louis Stuff

PET PEEVE!

As a dorky person who has a louis dog carrier even I can say for sure that I can always tell the fakes.

I can break it down for you bag for bag as I have A TON of real Louis stuff but the big thing is you have to look at the handles...they OXIDIZE when they are real.

The fakes are white all the time. The real ones have leather that turns almost black with use.

That is the number one thing that you will notice with used LV stuff. The leather turns almost black...very dark brown.

It is sooo worth it though to get the real LV stuff because unlike Gucci (which is put together in a crappy way in my opinion)....their stuff is really well made and the vintage LV items always have a resell value.

I have no idea about the Lacoste stuff though...that may be tougher to figure out....

GOOD LUCK:)

Wouldn't the most obvious difference be the price?

Or, are you trying to determine whether the clothes are illegal knock-offs or legitimate mrechandise that's been stolen?

If you get them usually at a tropical place that sells the licensed merch. in an official store or department store, it's legit. For example you can get authentic Lacoste polo shirts for $10-$20 in Mauritius because they assemble it there and ship it back to France for a huge mark up. all the parts and cotton come from France but they ship it out of country to have it assembled.

Fake LV will NEVR CUT THROUGH THE LOGO!!!!! LV will ALWAYS have the FULL LV logo. Also, anyhting that says "made in CHINA" is FAKE,FAKE, FAKE. Also LV has a lifetime warrany, and s NEVER suppose to tear, or ripp, or any of that crap!!!!
That's not necessarily true. The purse I got as a birthday gift, at the store, the logo is cut right where the zipper is, however the purse and leather is one piece and not cut in pieces and stitched together even if there is a binding. Both dead giveaways of fake from what the clerk told me.

Never is a strong word for the ripping or tearing afterall there wouldn't be a warranty offered. One thing is for certain, you won't get a lifetime warranty on repairs with knock offs.

As TTT said the leather oxidizes and it happens over time. My good friends' is just beginning to patina and one of mine is too. I saw the same handbag I was carrying a couple of months ago and the leather was this gorgeous dark nut brown. I can only imagine what the leather texture would feel like, probably like butter.

A Vuitton mens or womens wallet?
-look to see that the print is all aligned and square
-and probably one piece of leather depending on what product you are getting.
If it's a logo and a wallet, probably
-one piece of leather so the logo is right side up one side and upside down the other side.
-aligned stitching is also a good sign.
If the wallet has a snap,
-look at the snap and check for Louis Vuittion stamped on it.

I don't have any wallets but bags so I don't know if there is a heat embossed stamp and serial number on wallets or smaller pieces. But those are important if they have them on smaller items.

If they have the reciept I guess that's okay but then again I didn't keep mine. Why would I?

Up your V
Lacoste you need to see which way the gator faces. Check the material as well. The gator is smaller
Several years ago in Hong Kong some local store (Giordano or Bossini) had a bigger gator with teeth and faces the opposite way.Lacoste had a big stink and copyrights. Well it went to court and local guys won. The sad thing is stores in Hong Kong selling the same product are right next door to each other.
If you have $$$ you buy authentic Lacoste. If you have a budget go to next door.If you want to look rich and think your rich get knock offs. But still more than local stores.Weird?

Authentic LV purses, I heard it won't burn if you flicker a lighter to it.I don't know I can't afford to give up my kidney's for a bitchin' bag.

NEVER is a STRONG word, and that is the facts. REAL LV will NEVER tear rip or shred. It is the same thing WITH TIMBERLAND BOOTS. They also have a lifetime Warrany. Anyone who would say different is mistaken!!!!!!!!!!!

when you hit the quote button a window opens for you to type and the
'quote' is right at the top ...

just delete anything between the first [quote ] and the second
portion and what is left will show up ...

hit the preview button and see how it looks and make any revisions ...

then hit post!

Stranger things have happened not everything is perfect. Vuitton is not known to rip or tear. In the event that happens, the warranty covers it.
