Bobbi,
Nice site. I do have a suggestion for improvement. The pictures on the web site download very slowly, especially for potential clients with dialup connections.
The images are beautiful and professionally done. The photographer left you the full size high quality images just like he should. I suggest you resize a copy and use the smaller copy on your web site. People are pretty impatient with long download times on a web site. If you lose a customer in the first minute, you’ll never have the chance to keep them coming back for more.
Example: bobbi2.jpg is a 2560x1920 pixel 1053kByte file. That’s a huge file to use for a web page image. That entire file tries to download the first time someone visits your Schedules page. After it downloads, the browser then resizes it to 192x144 pixels. All the beautiful detail, the highlight in your eyes, the individual silky hairs… they all get lost when the browser resizes the image anyway. If you resize the image yourself, it won’t be more than about 25kBytes and will download in seconds instead of minutes.
BobbiVan.jpg isn’t quite so big, I think because you chopped off the borders and your face. But it’s the picture on the very top page of your entire site. If you give people any chance to get bored, they will be surfing to somewhere else. It’s really worthwhile trying to make that first page download quickly. I suggest resizing that image and seeing how much you can compress it too.
Of course, maybe you are trying to weed out the losers with dial-up connections. /*Intended as humor.*/
Here's some further and probably better information.
