Nah, don't you know how Mike works? It's all about the "golden parachute". Sign a contract for 3 years, get fired after 1 or 2 years and have the remainder of your contract bought out.

As an Oiler fan, I WELCOME this move, however, I also remember the last time Kipper and Iggy were due for a new contract and the outcome it had.

WTF is Sutter thinking. Keenan's a dinosaur when it comes to coaching. I understand Calgary's desire to renew their work ethic and evidently Playfair wasn't getting through to the players but Iron Mike?! I give it 20 games before the players get tired of his tough guy act and the team goes into the tank.

I think we'll have to wait and see on the Keenan signing. I know he messed things up in Vancouver, but in the short term he might get the team going. Just don't let him make any trades.
