RE: Kids shows...
The Friendly Giant was my favorite. I loved Jerome the Giraffe. My family life as a kid was a mad house and it was always nice to sit in front of the black and white and visit with the Friendly Giant. It was very calming.
I liked JP Patches, I think that was an American based show.
Mr. Dress Up was good. But I could never figure out what sex Casey was. I liked Mr. Dress Up's imagination. I used to copy those things and I used to put on puppet shows for my friends and my family with socks that I sewed buttons and fake orange and purple fur onto, and I would do all the voices and make up silly skits.
I got a big cardboard box and cut a square hole in the front and put curtains on it and set it up on two saw horses my Dad had in the basement. And I would put a blanket in front so they couldn't see me, and make up little shows. I think I was about seven or eight. That was fun. My analyst has helped me interpret that segment of my life. I no longer do puppet shows for my friends and family.
And who could forget Sesame Street. Big Bird, the Hefalump, Ernie and Bert, Grover, Oscar who lived in the garbage can (my favorite), Hermit the Frog, The Count...AH Haaahhaaaaahhaaa.....I LOVE TO COUNT....and so on and so on....
Later,
bobsled.
