Does your weight change depending on where you live?

If I weighed myself at the equator and then at the North Pole would I weight less at the equator?

In theory I am traveling faster at the equator and therefore centrifugal force should cause the scale to read less on the equator.

Hmmmm….This may be the start of a lose weight quick scheme, with guaranteed results.

Maybe I am a geek after all......

unfortunately gravity is an equal opportunity force so even air-heads still stick to the planet rather than flying off into space where they belong.

actually, to weigh less you need more height ... the further you move from the earth's surface the less you weigh ... and, surprise-surprise, you also age less! The difference in weight and age is measured in atoms and atomic time, but if it makes you look and feel better, then by all means live on the top floor because that's where its happening!

If you used a spring scale to weight yourself you would be lighter but if you used a gravity (counterweight) medical scale you would weight the same! To some extent that is why rockets are launched closer to the equator than the northern latitudes (France launches in Africa somewhere).
