I hope they put these kids in jail for a very long time. I was bullied when I went to school and if it was up to me, these kids would be castrated and then thrown in jail and throw away the key.

In an interview today, the mom said the school did very little despite her reporting the bullying many times over the last month. I hope they sue the school board into bankruptcy.

It makes my heart bleed whenever I hear a story like this. My own daughter was bullied, by girls. ( One would think only boys get bullied!!!). It was horrendous. School just talked to the bullies. That was their solution. We were indirectly said, "May be she needs change of scenery." Loosely translated it meant, "Take her to another school." We did, and things are much better.

This world is no place for sensitive, polite, non-aggressive people. People are ready to bite your head off, chew it up and spit it out before you could say STOP.

So true unfortunately. I was very fortunate in that the bullying stopped when I went to university. I made some good friends while at university that I am still in contact with 40 years later.

I would be intersted to hear from people on this site that will admit that they bullied classmates while in school. How do you feel about it now? What do you think was wrong with you that you felt the need to bully? Would you consider approaching the people you bullied and apologizing?

It goes on in the adult world too.
Bullies are assholes and most never grow out of it.

I worked in a place with a bunch of redneck assholes who literally bullied a guy to suicide.I always thought it was a shame he hadn’t come to work and shot the two guys who picked on him.

Speaking as a nonexpert, I would say that bullying is the intersection of kids who have low self esteem with kids who pretend high self esteem.

Schools, teams, parents, families should be obsessed, more than anything else, with building self esteem in all kids.

So you are saying that kids with low self esteem pick on kids with high self esteem to build up their own self esteem? As someone who was bullied, I can certainly atest to the fact that I had high self esteem, because my parents constantly told me I was great. It never occurred to me to ask the students that were bullying me if they had low self esteem.

This is why I believe this type of killer should never be paroled.

Case in point, Reena Virk was swarmed and eventually drowned by Kelly Ellard. Ellard never acknowledged her guilt while in Detention and is now allowed day passes. A pure sociopath with no feelings of regret for taking a life. It’s shameful the system believes this type of killer can can be reformed.

Here it is. Sorry, I'm not trying to hijack your thread. Some parallels, especially about bullying (verbal included, not just physical). Your story is more about what the perps (low life scums) did to the victim.

My post is more about "what being emotionally injured, may cause someone to do to HIMSELF."
Thanks Tim. Not the same exactly, but I can see where you could draw some parallels.

Check your closet..:)
When I went to school we respected the teachers and the principal. If I was bullied I fought back to make sure it didn't happen again. I did come home with bruises and bloody nose.
My dad would ask me if I was in a fight at school and did I fight back.
If I didn't fight back he would say ....don't come crying to me. Now eat your supper.

An act like this is a bit of a surprise given our society.I myself was bullied in school.Got swarmed one night by 5 guys who took turns kicking the shit out of me for a half hour.I still got up after it and walked away because 5 guys could not put me away.

I have read all of the info available on this sad event and I truly hope ALL of those involved as the attackers go to jail and are tried for 1st degree murder as ADULTS.

AS Storm Rider says; try them as adults, hopefully with no hope of parole ever.

But because they are under age, their guardians should be held responsible too...

I was bullied a lot, and hated school. It would be great if these two got about 90 years behind bars to think about it.

Yep the 18 year old will definitely be liked in prison and he should me allowed to contact the 14 year old and tell him what he can experience when he gets moved to an adult prison

It was a different world when I was growing up in the 70s. If it was an older kid bullying someone, they usually got put in their place by a kid their own age. If the bully and the kid were the same age, you were expected to solve your own problems. Being one of the few brown kids in a whiter than white elementary school, I got picked on a lot. My folks told me their only words and not to let it get to me but if it escalated to a physical confrontation I had permission to defend myself. I lost just as many fights as I won but nobody ever let fights get out of hand and when one kid said they give that was it and you grudgingly shook hands.

I remember being shocked at my first day of university that people were actually civil towards one another there. Quite a change after high school. This was early 2000's.

“She’s lost two other kids” ???

Did anyone catch that part?

Regardless, the persons responsible clearly have a lot of issues. It also mentioned that one of the persons was 18 but is still a youth? That’s rather odd as well considering it happened in September, so either a previous student or one that has been held back.

Super sad.
