I regularly see a SP who smokes, doesn't bother me one bit. To be fair though, she takes extra care brushing and such.

There are memories though..........

I for one do not like the cigarette smokers. However, every once in a while there will be a SP who may remind me of someone that I new from the early 1970's when I was in the bar business. There is that combo of perfume, shampoo and cigarette smell that brings back some wild memories. Just one whiff gives me an arousal action that I have to satisfy.:D

interesting topic...thanks. I hadn't thought about asking an SP if she smokes or not prior to booking. i certainly should though, as it would be a deal breaker...i absolutely cannot stand the taste or smell of cig smoke...

We're really putting smokers on the defensive here

Actually, I find the lack of use of mouthwash by sps who offer kissing, bbbjs, etc alarming. Yeah, I would suggest you see sps who do make use of the antiseptic/antibacterial mouthwashes available. It isn't just about fresh breath, you know?

And if they don't, you sure should. It can be something you take along with you.
Smokebreath isn't a deal breaker for me in the heat of arousal...but I think I'll take FortunateOne's advice and add a bottle of Listerine to my already bulging pooner bag. And, when that whiff of nicotine-laden air comes my way—usually during the first getting-acquainted hug—I'll intone:

"Wow, lady, does your breath ever reek of smoke. How am I supposed to get a hard-on if your ashtray mouth keeps blasting me with this stink? Use mouthwash, for God's sake—or I leave right now and demand my money back."

On second thought, perhaps this might dampen the mood. Perhaps the following would go over better?

"Hey, sweetie, I notice you smoke. No problem. See, I brought some mouthwash along—hope you don't mind if we both take a swig. Then we'll have a nice fresh taste when we kiss, what do you say?"

You'll have fresh breath and she will STILL smell and taste like smoke:p
Minty smoke.

T, the point here really is the health benefits of using and insisting on the use of something like mouthwash in such intimate encounters. It isn't always about fresh breath or taste, but the bbbj and dfk with the guy before you.

To all of the comments from guys who are saying things like since most SPs go to a lot of trouble to make themselves attractive to men, why don't they just quit smoking, you are forgetting that smoking is a serious addiction & is not just like putting on some makeup or doing one's hair. The fact that not smoking might make some men who pay them for sex find them slightly more attractive is really not motivation to quit. If someone can't quit because it is very harmful to their health & costing them a fortune, then why would you think that they would quit just because it might make you enjoy kissing them more?

If you don't want to see SPs who are smokers, then don't, there are plenty of clients who will. Another reason why SPs do not go through the torture of quitting simply to get more business is because the fact that they smoke is obviously not hurting their business. It is fine to ask before making an appt whether someone smokes or not, or (if they do smoke & you still want to see them) to ask them to make sure to shower & use mouthwash right before the appt. As long as you are polite about it I think it should be totally fine to ask these things.

On a related topic, there are plenty of clients who have extremely odourous breath & bad-tasting mouths either because they smoke (whether cigarettes or other things), drink coffee or alcohol, or just ate raw onions for lunch, etc, & you would be surprised at how many of them don't even bother in the slightest to attempt to cover it up. I guess either they are oblivious (which sometimes I find hard to believe), or they think that because they are the one paying that it doesn't matter if they are courteous about their partner's enjoyment. However, even if you don't actually care about whether she's enjoying herself, as I've said before, smelling nice & having good hygeine go a very long way to getting you better service & more openmindedness.

Ya, smoking's enough to warrant getting kicked out of bed. It's so disgusting I've turned down free sex and went to find my own hotel b/c I knew it meant I'd have to kiss her again, ugh

Some people are allergic to smoke too, so it is a good idea to ask in case the place you go to is going to be smokey. (Same thing re: pets. You shouldn't really have to ask, considering that many people have allergies, the sp you see should let you know about smoking, pets, and scents)

Agreed, which kind of makes Violets first paragraph irrelevant and a bit of a copp out;) If one wants to quit smoking quit and stop making excuses.
How on earth was my post irrelevent or a cop-out??
I never said anything about whether or not I smoke, or, if so, whether or not I want to quit, nor made any "excuses" for why I (theoretically) don't quit or why others don't... All I said was that it is naive to think that someone is going to just suddenly quit smoking simply because some clients don't like it, & it's not the same as doing one's hair or makeup. And, that if someone is going to quit, their main motivation is not likely to be just to increase their business as an SP.

How is a post about SPs smoking (& my opinions about the other posts) in a thread about SPs smoking "irrelevant"?? How is a post that doesn't say anything about it being hard to quit or the reasons why people don't quit a "cop-out"?? I simply gave my opinion of what was not a reason that people quit, namely, that I highly doubt anyone is going to quit smoking merely because they read a thread on PERB saying that some clients don't like the smell/taste of smoker's breath. Conversely, I highly doubt a client who smokes is going to quit solely because an SP doesn't like it.

ADDITION:
On reflection, perhaps you construed my implying that quitting smoking was not as easy (not the word I used however) as putting on some makeup as an "excuse" or "cop-out" as to why people don't quit?? Well I think you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone, especially an ex-smoker, who said that those were remotely similar activities.

For me it is quite simple.

If I can tell that an SP smokes, then I won't see her again.

I don't give a rat's ass if she smokes or not, her business, not my problem if she's a moron who wants to die of lung cancer. That's part of the benefit of seeing an SP, not having to care what happens to her after she walks out the door.

But for me, the smell, taste and 'feel' of cigarette smoke makes me want to puke, so if that's what I smell/taste/feel there's no way in hell I'm going to repeat.

She can smoke 10 packs a day for all I care, so long as I don't have to smell/taste/feel it.

why is it that everyone puts "an sp" such as in the subject line,

Does an SP's smoke breath affect your enjoyment?

this has made me crazy for a while, shouldnt it be " a sp"
I wondered about this when I was in high-school. The answer is in the way it is pronounced. "SP" is pronounced as "Es P" (starts with a vowel sound) and so it is "an SP". Similarly, note that M.B.A. (degree) is pronounced as "Em-B-A" and so it is "an MBA degree".

If you wrote 'Service Provider' instead of 'SP', it will be "a service provider" because it doesn't start with a vowel sound.

I would rather have the hooker have smoke breath than "some other guy's cock" breath.
You would?:p

You are so smart!:)

The moral of the story is I'm glad I don't smoke:p

I never said you smoke. Your excuses are a cop-out for those who do. Cut the highly addicive crud. Anyone can quit if they want to. If they don't, they have lots of excuses such as the ones you have given to fall back on. No one said it's easy but it can be done. If someone doesn't want to quit, that's a whole different situation.
Can you please give examples of these? Where did I give any "excuses" whatsoever as to why anyone smokes or doesn't quit? And it is an addiction, that is a fact, not an excuse. I never said "be nice to smokers cuz they can't quit cuz they're addicted" or anything like that. All I said was that an SP is not likely to quit smoking simply to get slightly more possible business, nor because any client on PERB says they don't like it. Bottom line. I was not even talking about why anyone smokes or doesn't quit.

I've heard it said that quitting smoking is harder than quitting heroin...

Honestly, I've never heard of ex-smokers puking their guts out, having the shakes, or having to go on methadone when they quit their habit....

I dunno, I just think smoking is the most pointless thing you can do, both health-wise and money wise. Basically you're paying a multi-billionaire company for the privilege of dying...

I would love to see a study done of why people started smoking in the first place - I am sure that 90-95% of the reasons why people started would be "peer pressure".

I got started on it through hashish, I guess it's true what they say....the soft drugs just lead to the hard ones. ;)
