Seriously?

An RCMP officer issued a warning for distracted driving at a McDonalds Drive Thru.

Apply handbrake, turn off engine and then pay for your McHappy Meal.

Just for once I'd like to issue a ticket to a Police Officer for using the laptop while the vehicle is in motion. That's far more distracted and dangerous than paying with you phone FFS

Competely false.

The real story, left out of that carefully edited piece, is the cops were in the area, saw the guy on the phone while driving on the street, and caught up to him in the drive-thru.

They could have given him a ticket, but just gave him a warning. Of course, the anti-police, anti fining-people-for-being idiots spun it into the above story.

Canadian officers, in my personal experience, have never been douchebags.

Can't say the same about Americans.[/QUOTE]

Same, ive never really had any problems myself. Many yrs ago while stumbling home from the bar a cop stopped me. After he determined I was drunk I said to him didn't have $ for a cab and didn't want to drive drunk. Since I was a block from home he let me go and waited until I was inside before he drove away. He could have nailed with being drunk in a public place I guess, but he was decent about it

Drunk in a public place is just the power to jail you if your being a douche.....I've been to many Rodeo dances, and told the RCMP I needed a ride home.
Half the time they'll make the hour or so drive and deliver me to my doorstep....keeping in mind it is a small town , and I have positive interaction with them....mostly.
I think most seasoned cops, if your under the influence , and still trying to remain reasonably responsible , will be somewhat accommodating.

I see my satellite screwed that post up royally again....but you get my drift.

Two sides to every story.

I've often wondered about the mentality of people whose go-to move is to start swearing, giving the finger and generally being abusive to police doing their jobs.

I mean, do they think it will improve the liklihood the officer might give them a break?

These guys are automatic road ragers if they can't even rein in their behaviour when dealing with someone who can deliver a world of inconvenience, costs or confinement.
