If anyone has the information, on who to contact regarding unprofessionalism by a Doctor at a Medical Clinic, please post.

I am not going to state what I experienced...no point really...

Walk in clinics are not regulated. These are private businesses which exist to meet the needs of a public wanting easy access to medical care. They are in fact the "MacDonalds"of medicine, the care is fragmented and driven by the need to process the maximum number of patients an hour. Fortunately many people who attend walk ins have such minimal medical aliments that it matters little what the interaction was or the outcome. The unfortunate downside is many new family doctors choose the easy and lucrative hours of walk in clinics over full service family practice and so these clinic perpetuate the shortage of true family practitioners. If you have a true emergency you are far better off going to an emergency department where at least the staff there have to meet some minimum requirements to work there and are regulated by not only the college but their local hospital bylaws. Your only real choice here is the college but bear in mind this body deals with serious issues about physician behaviour so you might not get much traction over something less that that.

I just want to add my 2 cents worth re: walk in clinics. I've had my share of pompous, arrogant doctors over the years but finally found the perfect doctor for me. She is thorough, friendly, encouraging, and totally accepts the fact that I am the boss. She gives me her best medical advice and allows me to make the final decision. She works at the First Care Medical at 10th & Commercial.

My family member had the same experience. Went from a private practise doctor who was actually hard for him to travel to who typically wrote a prescription and sent him home, to a walk in clinic. He found a gem in a former N.Van doctor who was "cutting back" her schedule this way, lots of experience, enough at least to have him tested, checked out, and in for heart surgery within a few months of their first meeting.

Without this doctor available to him only thru a chance decision to go into the walk in clinic a few blocks from home, he would not have made it thru without those tests and that surgery, and his private practise doctor would still be writing prescriptions..... for a dead man.
