Burns Bog on fire...

Heard on the news that Burns Bog was burning up again so I went out and took a few pics and watched water-bombers do their thing...

There seemed to be multiple fires in the bog. Police had most of the are locked down, but news on the radio said that everything near 104th and 64th was closed.

Pic 1 was taken from 96th near Ladner Trunk Rd.

Pic 2 was taken from 112th, also near Ladner Trunk Rd.

Pic 3 was taken from the 64th Ave onramp to Hwy 91

Pic 4 was taken on Ladner Trunk Rd just east of 104th

She's right. It was blowing to the west to Vancouver. I opened my window this evening around 7 PM and thought someone was burning wood.

i was at memphis blues on commercial dr. and when we came out it was raining light ash from the fire.

That's not smoke - that's the smell of LAND DEVELOPMENT.

Burns Bog is about 10x the size of Stanley Park and about 22Km's from the Low Track as the crow flies.

Yeah I like that one too... I took a couple like that. They were long exposures (from the side of the road) of 3 to 5 seconds and with a tripod, since it was already dark out.

as for the BBB where is it relative to downtown Vancouver (I assume east) but where abouts?

The area of the fire is near 104th St. & 64th Ave. (roughly where the word "Bog" is on the above map)

Aside from bogs being a great wetland environment does Burn's Bog have anything going for it...i.e. recreation etc? I've never heard of it until yesterday's late news
