Has anyone on the Perb website been to Burning Man in Nevada or knows of someone who went? Any comments regarding the people who go and how they spend their time? I don't think I could last a three day festival in the middle of a desert.

lower mainland.
Go for a day. See the sights. People watch.
The Black Rock Playa is an interesting piece of landscape, and only 900 miles away. On the way there, eat at Janet's Restaurant and Bakery in Cedarville CA. Must have breakfasts and pastries.

Bruno's in Gerlach (billed as a country club and resort…..and it is. Of sorts) is an interesting spot with lot of history if you dig deep enough.

I'd swing by, stay a day at Burning Man to observe the goings on and prefer to completely miss the actually burning, instead heading south into Reno or Sparks and staying in a comfortable motel.

It's a relatively small segment of the population that goes to the BRP. Burning Man people, rocketeers, hunters and motorcyclists.

I concur with paprides. I've never made it to Burning Man myself, but have a number of friends who've done it. The impression I get is that it's interesting to observe, but a relatively conservative type like myself would find it tedious after a day or so.

I drive back and forth to Nevada once or twice a year. I thank paprides for the suggestions about Janet's and Bruno's. I'll check them out.
