*phone rings (work number)*
me: hello?
him (deepest voice ever): "hello"
me (almost comments on the deep voice): "what's up?"
him: "I saw you in Costco today."
me: "well that's creepy."
him: "yeah. I'm going to fucking kill you."
me: *hangs up and starts crying*

so yeah, THIS is why you should just suck it up and screen. we are literally scared FOUR OUR LIVES.

Very sorry to hear about this kind of abuse Charlee. Sick individuals like the one that called you today should be locked up and the key thrown away.

I always try to treat sex workers with the utmost repect. Even when I have been ripped off, which thankfully does not happen very often, I attrbute it to the circumstances that the lady finds herself in and just walk away.

Men ...if he can be called that....like the one that called you, wanna make me puke.
Guys who threaten like that, just want to mess with you, but you have every right to be shaken, and concerned.
Call a good friend tonight, and have them over.....or call a cab, wait till you can see it out front, and go see a trusted friend.
I would have to assume there is no caller ID that came through?
You may want to consider writing down the time , and date of the call....and pinpoint when you where in Costco( if you in fact did go there) by the time on your receipt...just in case you want to start a file with L.E. in the near future.

So sorry to hear about this.

Have you reported to the cops. I’m guessing they would be able to pull a warrant to track the call (even thru VOIP) and find your caller. For your sake (and others) this may be a prudent course of action if you already have not initiated.

Be safe.

You would know better than me.But I have seen movement in this front. Just looking at all the MPs, street workers who can ply their trade, the city and the police have put their resources elsewhere instead of vice. I’m not trying to get into a pissing match with your, I’m just sincerely concerned about your safety.

This is just plain fucked up. Shit like this makes me ashamed to be a man. Mind you that fucking coward isn't a man.
Even at my age, I would like to meet that bastard in a somewhat darkened alley.
Disgusting puke.
So sorry this happened. Haters and assholes are out there.

yeah, exactly, they put their resources elsewhere. I don't think they'd even do anything beyond maybe telling me this is a risk of the job, which would be emotionally draining.

Would Susi be of help ? I'm sure she heard it all and could have points of reference to help or know where to go for support in the VPD.

That's sickening! It's sad that still women esp SP's are looked down upon and treated like that. Men who do that are actually cowards.

Again, this is entirely your prerogative, but do you think a lady is putting herself to a bit more risk when she shows her face in her ads. For example, I have never met you in person, but I would recognize you if I ever saw you in public (you are also very hot looking, but that is beside the point). I am sure others guys could recognize you as well including this freak, whom you might not even have seen. Having said that having seen you or not doesn't make anyone more or less a creep.

Be safe.

Me choosing to show my face in my ads is not the problem. Also I have incredibly recognisable tattoos do even if I didn’t...this could happen. Also women who are not sex workers receive death threats and get stalked.

women do not need to change our behaviour. Men do. Call out sexist behaviour that you see.

*hugs* Charlee. That is enough to rattle a reader having to hear about your experience, let alone having it happen to you. Stay being who you are and handling your business accordingly. Sex workers are not here for your sick and twisted games one chooses to play. This person should be ashamed of themselves and hopefully do better.

Its a bad experience, no doubt. That is what we don't expect in life. Some years ago I placed an add for my cat, trying to find a new loving home. I got a phone call, from very nice sounding gentleman, who asked me all the details about it, then smoothly drifted into describing how he would love to stretch it and skin it alive. I told him is this all you've got? Couldn't you more? He hang up on me. And eventually I found a great place for my cat.

By any stretch please do not accuse me of drawing parallels. Im writing this to point out that drawing parallels can be not a good idea. The 'women should not change, man should' statement is cruel and harmful. I disagree with such a generalized opinion, wholeheartedly. It transpires dissolution and prejiduce. A bias. There are mamy great man out there. And many bad. There are many great women, and there are also those that aren't as great. Such generalizing solutions in these matters are narrow-minded and because they are base on misunderstanding the realities and dynamics in the real cruel world, aimed at idealistic utopia as a goal, they create harm by misdirection weak minds.

There was a discussion about the women's right just to tell some random guy to fuck off. Tell him you didn't follow my rules so fuck off. The woman saying this has rules, is independent, strong, and would not any man or a woman to tell her to adjust and change to please anyone else. That would include a cru from some man complaining women should change.

In a solar way, the opposite works in a very similar way. Man do not deserve to be judged as root of all evil and told to change. Man are not all bad. Same with women. We are all a mix of characters, and there are good and bad in this play all over the spectrum. On top of that, a mature escort and a person would know that there are bad seeds out there. You put yourself knowingly out there, into the wild. You don't make the rules, really. The wild world does. The only safe place would be to stay away from risking lifestyles, and being an escort is high risk profession, or hobby, and ut would be naive to assume such threatening calls are not a part of it. And its not the man's burden to eliminate this. Creeps are all over the place. I assume you weren't born yesterday.

Final note, please, don't tip the guilt on one side. Don't generalize at grandiose scale. Its unfair to many great compassionate man. Many who are sensitive and care. Many who suffered abuse at the hands of women, but don't blame the opposite sex for their sufferings. Learn and become smarter. No need to demonize. Life is a thing that includes unpleasant things. Its your choice how much you want to eliminate the obvious amount of this, and how much you are willing to risk. To get what you need or want, at it. You can alway opt out. What I said gives nobody any excuses, but decency is not a thing you can buy paying by the pound. What can you do about it? Blame isnot a solution.

“Not all men” is such a tired argument. Yeah sure but all men but I have no idea which men. It could be any many who walks by me in the street. It was some random guy at Costco.

Also why do we only bring up men’s rights when women are tanking about their rights? You’re just trying to silence me and dilute my point.

also OBVIOUSLY I was talking about the fact that women don’t need to change what we’re wearing, doing, saying in order to avoid assault/rape/death threats/murder; men need to stop doing those things. There are tons of problematic things women do as well but this thread is about a man who called me and threatened to kill me.

if you wanna talk about men getting abused go start your own thread. This one is about my shitty experience and your “not all men” essay is rude and tasteless.
