I thought Kevin Falcon might have done something original like join the Green Party, then take it over and turn it into the party for selling the province off to his right wing buddies. Oh, wait a minute….

I think the intent is to gain distance from the federal Libs but not to align with the federal Conservatives.
Its not a bad name in my opinion (B-Cunt beside the point) but it's not too spiffy if you know what I mean.
Re the political alignment, tough to find some neutral ground that is palatable in BC. The Eby's have taken over the center leaving the Greens on the left, putting the Libs on the right. Further right has disappeared in BC.
Politics in 2023. Find somewhere where your political opponents aren't, and try to match your party name.

United means nothing to me. So what’s your policy stance? Centre? Right-ish? Or just a bunch of yes-men that follow the party line ‘cuz we are all branded United?

Every party can claim they are united in their cause and doctrine. I thought United was a church thing too, so maybe you got to be a moderate Christian to join the party.

Stupid name, nice logo. Bet it fails.

I can't help the feeling that it sounds like a soccer club ... DC United, Atlanta United, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Leeds United ....

Perhaps Ted Lasso could be hired to motivate BC United?

Or perhaps Stan Kroenke (owner Arsenal FC), who also seems to own a good chunk of BC ranchland, could "own" BC United too? After all his net worth is a mere US$12.9B

Centrist party ? I think not. When the Socreds blew thrmselves up as a party, the remnants staged a hostile takeover of the BC Liberals and it went from centrist to right wing under Gordon Campbell.
After the NDP failed, the "Liberals" had power for a long while (despite their name causing angst among many Harperite members like Falcon ), then finally blew themselves up. Now the NDP are in charge but people's opinion are mixed about them & Eby (it really depends on what issues). So the party of the right changes its name just to rid BC of anything resembling a centrist option (once again).

Aww, they chose "United" - well I guess that word appeals to a lot of their members. But when you look at the name, it is lame as fuck.

BC United?
DC United?
United Conservative Party ?
BC United Conservative Liberal Socred Party ?
United States ?

A name that stands for nothing. At least nothing they want to talk about in the open.

Also the colours teal and coral? More like gel toothpaste and pink grapefruit.

(PS: There's probably no chance of resurrecting the name "Social Credit" considering what the Government Of China's now using those same words for.)

BC Reformed SoCred not Liberal is what they have always been since the time between Rita Johnson and Gordon Campbell to Kevin Falcon. When Gordon Wilson got outed for his minor mistake is when the Liberal party ceased to exist.

I'm guessing that with this rebranding/name change they are gonna change their hair colour and style, get some new glammy photos , get some new phone numbers, play dumb to their lying ,cheating and robbing and get some shills to gush about how great they are all while selling us out and never really changing their ways

Kevin Falcon is from the Gordon Campbell era. If they get elected into government, we will just get more of that.

The Conservatives in AB are the United Conservatives Party. So it seems "united" is a code for a shift to the right.
