You've been reading too many NDP press releases. Who are these nutcases in opposition? The most radical seem to total 4, Finlay is gone, and do you know, or care to know anything about Doerkson or Milobar?
You can't seriously claim any party could have fucked up BC's finances worse than the current NDP. John Horgan would rightly be appalled at what Eby has done with what he left him.

I like how people are saying "OMG, it may be bad now but at least the conservatives aren't in power" when there is no way anyone could speculate what it would be like since there hasn't been a conservative government in 93 years.

Not content with destroying the economy, resulting in a slowdown in housing sales, now Eby wants to tax unsold units that people can't afford.

So, developers (and I'm no friend) who put forward the risk, now get further penalized with a tax, unless they discount their product. The class war at its most blatant.

Also, for those with short memories - The NDP won the 2024 election by just over 30,000 votes. They squeaked in, largely I think, on the promise of up to $1000 grocery rebate, that Eby lied about, and reneged on. He's lying now about fighting Trump. He already had a majority, so the ONLY reason for calling an early election was because he thought the opposition was fractured. He's a weasely opportunist.

To the throppled cock's point I think the NDP got in last time because folks were freaked out by Ruk Sak's agenda and his general thrust of fundamentalist talking points. And I think there are many are like me, red tory's, with nowhere to place our vote.

So do you vote for the party that is lame duck at best and frankly (to me), disgusting, or do you vote for what possibly could be a church/state party.

Its all fucked up and has been in BC politics for a long long time. But for those who buy into the NDP wholeheartedly, look back at when BC was prosperous and each party in power at the time was centralist. What does that say about your far left agendas?

I would love to see a minority government with the Greens holding 6-8 seats. And I hope Emily Lowan sticks to her guns and forces the NDP to sign an agreement that bring forth proportional representation in our next provincial election.

Eby was almost turffed before the summer. If he gets a minority government he'll be turfed and the NDP will implode and won't have a suitable replacement. Then another election will be triggered. We could very well be looking at 2 elections within a year.

Proportional representation has been rejected in BC before, I highly doubt it will show up. Since this is likely to get lively, I have edited the title and created this as the BC Politics thread to keep everything BC related in here.

The conservatives need to act fast and get their act together, cut out the crazy right wing bullshit and consolidate the centre-right and maybe they have a chance to form opposition. Findlay and her neo-Nazi pals and those who formed their own group need to be locked out of the tent. Ties to Christy Clark or other disgraced Liberals will not help them, only hurt them. She's still radioactive, radio show or not.
