Heading down south for the first time in a couple of weeks, just curious if anyone might have a link or some info on this area of California for a pooner to take in?

You might try asking in http://www.myredbook.com - it is probably the best guide for the San Francisco area and the most likely source for info about Monterey.

However, if the question was about Monterrey, Mexico, then you would be right.

Nergizerbuner: There are about 4 below average AMP's, and can be found in the Yellow Pages. The suggestion to look on Redbook is not a bad one, but info on Monterey is very sparse there. Best to go into the Santa Clara/San Jose area for hobbying.

If your still in the area on July 22nd, and your a speed freak check out the Moto GP race at Laguna Seca. It's kind of pricey but a GREAT way to spend a Sunday if the weather is nice.

The weather is always nice in Monterey. I spent a year at the Presidio and it was never cold, never hot. Sometimes it is foggy for a few hours, but mostly you can expect temps to be between 65-75. Just guessing, that would be about 18-22 to anybody north of the border. Please correct me if I am wrong.

And, for the race at Laguna Seca, that is a little bit more inland, so it would be warmer.
