Just weeks after Chris Benoit's death, I hear that Bryan Adams aka "Crush" from the tag team Demotion has died at the early age of 44. What is with all these premature deaths?

Physical exhaustion, booze, coke, steroids, uppers, downers, hotels, fast food, airplanes, protein-supplements, red meat. Take your pick.

I would say it was red meat, airplanes, protein-supplements or fast food. Probably too much steroids over the years and it was too hard on the heart.
Physical exhaustion? Seems unlikely to me.

not too hard to figure out...

anabolic steroids, human growth hormones, etc. take a heavy toll on the body.

I don't watch wrestling but even flipping through, I haven't seen any bodies (male or female) that look unenhanced.

Exactly. Vince McMahon turned a blind eye to steroids back then and should of had strict drug testing. I guess Vince didn't give a shit as long as the WWE was making money, that's all that mattered to him.

has anybody realized that vince mcmahon himself is on crank and he's over 60? last i checked he's still alive. oh, maybe it's cuz he doesn't snort after each road match, and maybe it's cuz he takes care of himself by working out instead of upping the test and then sitting in a fucking hotel room drugging himself out while drinking straight shots while being part of a group orgy.

it's actually a combination of the steroids and pain killers they get from their doctors that fuck them up. yes i said it, it's the pharmacy drugs that eventually fuck with your mind.

Why do pro wrestlers participate in steroids, painkillers, other types of drugs more frequently than other athletes?

they don't. there's a shitload of football players, basketball players, and baseball players that do so as well.

now why do pro wrestlers die from it? i think most professional athletes start winding down their careers by 40. pro wrestlers continue on, and they start taking more crank, more painkillers and so forth and it's those last couple of years that take more of a toll than the first 15.

if you guys are after an interesting read when it comes to life on the road as a wrestler check out Mick Foley's autobiography. It's called "Mankind: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks"

He basically touches on all the crap being tossed around in this thread. At one point he says, if a guy looks too good to be true, then he usually is doping. The guy also mentions that a lot of wrestlers out there are running around with twisted ankles, or torn ligaments, injuries that would put a mailman on his ass for a couple of weeks. Sprain your ankle one night, and you're out getting tossed around on the mat again the following night.

The wrestling business is so competitive. The lesser known "superstars" can't afford to get hurt. For every one that drops off TV, there's three waiting to take his place. So you jack steroids to get that physique that will put you on TV, you pop painkillers to deal with the bumps and bruises you get so you can keep your job, and you drink, snort lines, and abuse any other substance you can get your hands on to deal with the fact that you're on the road 300 days out of the year.
