Another escort review forum hacked

Sorry to the Mods if this breaks the rules but I thought I should share it. Another forum *Four One One* has all it's posts flagged by Google. As many of you frequent multiple sites please proceed cautiously. I can't post a screenshot so I copied the text.

That board is pure evil.

Extorts money from escorts to remove bad reviews, they openly post the fee. Not very subtle.

That board, let alone the content, always seemed like a cesspool of virtual STDs with a billion things and popups going on in that interface. Every time I click on a link I almost immediately close the window. Yeah

LOL, well said. I've often thought to run Burp Suite over it and see how many servers a single page reaches out too. I guess what blows me away is people ignored the warnings and just surfed on through. It's very possible they were infected with malware & may not know it. Modern anti virus just doesn't pick that stuff up anymore. Generally you hit a site, the site identifies your browser & type of OS (Windows/Mac) and then executes scripts to infect.

I've been watching their chat box, and one of their 'Admins' is telling everyone to ignore the warnings and click on through ... even though they've been told the site is full of malware.

On one hand, he's saying it was a faulty re-direct for an advertiser, then on the other hand, he's saying malware.

I tried 4 different browsers and a VPN, and my anti-everything still wouldn't let me through.

That site is a cesspool and no one with any kind of self respect or decent reputation will have anything to do with it. Their admins/mods have mostly been banned from other boards including this one. Go there at your own peril, but don't ever use the same email/password as other boards, as their admin has openly admitted to hacking/phishing on many occasions and a ton of members have been outed.

If they were, every single mod on all 3 boards would have quit. This is the kind of juvenile BS that they are known for.

If anyone still has those bogus emails in their inbox, you can forward them to the Anti-spam people as proof of what the Admin on that board has been doing.

How to report illegal spam emails or text messages

If you receive what you believe to be illegal spam emails or text messages, you can report the offending website/person to the government anti-spam department.

You can forward the spam emails to: spam@fightspam.gc.ca

I'm glad to see we're all on the same page here.

Apparently SP411 is now claiming that Fred Zeds wife has passed away!
I got that email too. It's more spam email from that board owner.

You can help deal with this by forwarding the email to the gov't anti-spam dept. I've already forwarded 4 emails that I received over the last few months.

If this email was sent to your 'hobby' email address, you have nothing to lose by taking a minute to forward the spam.

You will not be contacted by the government, they don't care who you are. All they care about is catching people who do stuff like this.

escapefromstress, have you actually had any positive experiences from forwarding spam? I've been in the IT industry a long time and have never seen a response from them or anything positive being done.

Yes I have. I got a response from the CRTC today. :)

I've also had other positive results that I can't discuss. ;)

I don't know what your problem is Damaged, but you seem determined to discredit me every chance you get.

I think you are paranoid escapefromstress. It was a simple post that I have reported spam and never seen anything come of it. Glad to hear you have and that they are actually trying to do something about it because I can show you a work log of rejected spam that is insane. The sheer amount of it out there boggles the mind.

Thanks Damaged. I will admit to being 'on the defensive' these days, so I apologize if I misinterpreted the tone of your post.

I'm still reeling from the shock that they replied to me.

Yeah, I think the number is something like 97% of all email traffic is spam.

I was thinking about this some more. If one business/website owner reports one thousand spam emails, that's a lot of spam being reported, but only by one person.

If spam is being sent to hundreds or thousands of p/t/merb members and they all report it as coming from the same source - I think that's what will draw their attention to dealing with it. The content of these spam emails is also criminal and malicious in nature, so that makes it worse than commercial spam.

Also, if LE ends up investigating the source of spam for other criminal offenses, they would be able to add the illegal use of email to their list of offenses.

The CRTC has a range of enforcement tools available, from warnings to penalties (up to $1 million for individuals and $10 million for businesses).

When I heard about that board awhile back, I scanned it as a lurker and .....meh....avoided it.

I'm a west coaster and Perb is all I need. Back in the day, I particaped on a few boards regularly and found it took too much time . Don't need that now.
