The Poll doens't work for me but....

I have never ever gave it a thought for a second that i have to work this hard or this long to pay $$$ amount to spent time with the SP of my choice.

I have disposable income and i spend that. I hope i never have to justify the amount i may spend for an SP services, (No i'm not wealthy) and if it do i'll find another hobby.:) --- Kev

Kev, that is more than great for you and probably many others. Not wanting justification, just honestly curious about how it compares with what net income people have. Wealthy or not, if you are happy and seeing SPs is part of that happiness, that is more than all the justification in the world (as long as the rent is paid, you are eating OK and you don't need a loan for your hobby).

Only area I will disagree, I bet many do think about how long/hard they work for their money when making a decision to spend it on something.....regardless of how much money you make. I make roughly 30 times what I did in my first year of working and I still, as much as then, weigh spending decisions heavily between options for that moola. Only difference now is the options are a lot better! I doubt I am in the minority in having these decision moments.

An accountant will no doubt suggest RRSP which brings us to where we started. RRSP or SP????

Unless his accountant is cute and available.:)

Wow, for a poll that a few grumpy people felt to be beneath them (but voted anyway), we got over 50 responses. Looks like most of you have similar (80% is most in any book) ideas as to what you think of in terms of comparing pooning to your net earnings.

NOW that July 2nd is closing in (tax free day in BC....we get it later than Canada average....), you all are now finally working for yourself and starting to work on your NET pay for the year so start pooning to whatever level makes sense in comparison!:p

Net pay or gross pay.

I assume that this is net pay right?
We live in a high tax country.

Except for escorts, they live in the same country, but it isn't high tax for them. :p

Pretty heavy response

As of this post, there is 31 votes to this poll. There must be some interest in this.
Now up to 57 votes. Becoming one of the most voted upon polls in Perb archives that addresses a pooning specific issue.

Still far fewer votes than views but not out of line with other polls it would seem.

VERY interesting that relatively %tage trends did not change significantly as poll moved from 10, to 20, to 30, to 40 and so on people voting. It is almost as though there is indeed a pretty consistent perspective amongst the Perb community on this issue.

Now when you go and vote on the 28th, it will be the second most important poll of your year! :p

Looks like 60...

...is about all this poll is going to get.

At nearly 85%, most of you seem to budget quite carefully or at least "think" you do as:

- either you are fooling yourselves
- all pooners make WELL over the average Canadian incomes

Thanks for all your input. I was actually surprised at the overwhelming results that seem dichotomous with Vancouver's pricing structure and/or typical wages for the "average guy". But, then again, we know Perberts are ANYTHING but average!

I thought this was dead....

.....but two more votes and BOTH say they will work for more than a week for that one special hour.

Wow! Let's hear from one of you four. I am really interested in such and sure others are too. Thinking about other activities in life.....um, more than a week's worth of work....wow.

Now that you can lease BMWs for less than $500 a MONTH and a killer bike for less than $250 a MONTH, as just one simple other activity comparison, it really would be curious and enlightening to hear from one of the "four" or anyone else who feels that way.

More like most of us fantasize about earning $320,000 a year and having an unlimited supply of SP's always available. sigh

I think it is more accurate to ask if ones spends 1/10,1/8,1/4,1/2 ,3/4 of their monthly salary to poon instead of asking hourly income! It is an embrassing question to ask someone how much you earn for an hour!

No one has to reveal their hourly wage....anonymous poll and what they pay for their hour is between them and their SP(s). Not sure how that is embrassing (sic).

I would say, however, is ANYONE is spending 3/4 of their NET monthly income on SPs then not only is that "embrassing", it is certifiable!!!:D

Probably most of us here spend more than we can afford. That's why it's important to get value for our funds.

I know a few members from Perb who spend close to 1/2 their net monthly income to poon!

Using "disposable" income (ie, net of all necessary expenses such as mortgage and car payments) might be more appropriate here.

Actually, I think a good rule of thumb is it safe to spend 10% of your income before you start worrying. Hey, if it's good enough for the church ... ;)
LOL. Love it! A new religion.

Thanks for the good chuckle. :D
