It was 205 Alexander that was closed after that incident. The ironic thing here is that the dude had a session at Rainbow immediately before his stand off at 205.

But you are correct - 222 Sherbrook has been closed for at least 2 years now.

I don't think there'll ever be another MP in Winnipeg. They changed the rules so that when you apply for a license you have to have a meeting of the residents in the area and they have to approve of you to get the license. I don't know how many people it takes to oppose you but I don't think its many.

I guess it's the same as any other biz,conditional use permit BS,that area though has no residential and the guy who owns owns most of the block.

I wonder if anyone's tried to get around this by opening a "private club" like you see on Ellice avenue. I've always wondered about those places, some of them look kinda shady.

I researched this with a very popular local SP a couple years ago, the MP route is likely not possible now - unless there is a handing down of a licence ... a "grandfathering" if you will, bypassing the current civic by-laws.

Private clubs are a very sticky issue with charters, elected officers and such.

Anyone wants it - they can buy my business plan - the research is already done.

I have heard that a couple of local business's are for sale. Some are in the area of $500,000.00 to $600,000.00
