Just close the borders for a week, no oil, no aluminum, call it a holiday from American idiots. in fact play that song at all border crossings.. yeah that one from Green Day....

Starting Sept 1 and lasting 7 days, the American border will be shut down, so Canada can celebrate Labour Week.. in honour of Labour Day... the first monday in September....

I guess it could all be about money, Putin could be funnelling cash into Swiss Bank accounts for half the Republicans in congress too I suppose, in addition to all the crypto and other insider trading the Trump crime family are involved in.

It’s the weird shit that stumps me though.

Isn’t there more $$ in backing big pharma than letting JFK fuck up the entire public health system and spreading his horseshit theories about vaccines?

Who profits from trashing the US military? Turfing all the people who actually knew how to run things is just stupid if you want the military to remain loyal. It seems like the USS Lincoln isn’t the only ship thats plagued by problems and low morale, so why turn your own military and their families agains the Trump regime?

Throwing all your expensive toys away in Iran and letting Ukraine swing in the breeze benefits no one but Putin.

And unless they’re all getting cash from China too, leaving Taiwan and South Korea without security help makes very little sense.
I don't think there's a foreign element to the corruption (not a large one anyway); there's just so many underhanded opportunities "at home" for these assholes to exploit.

I do think there will be repercussions.

Maybe not for Trump. The Supreme Court seems to have given him history’s biggest hall pass.

But all the sycophants around him and the enablers in congress are going to be easy targets for investigation if (and thats a big if in my opinion) the midterms run smoothly and the Dems take control of congress. Some of their corruption is so obvious it’s laughable. Let' start with this Lutnick clown.

Thats the reason why I doubt the elections will be free and fair. Republicans don’t all want to protect Trumps presidency, they want to protect their own asses.
I think, despite his efforts the elections will play out properly and based on how things are looking, the Republicans will be in a sorry state afterward.

The Saudis aren't going nuclear to counter Israel, they're looking to counter Iran. They'll work with Israel to do so.

Why did the CIA director make a visit to Putin?
So urgent that Putin cancelled another meeting to see him.

I would have to point out that at Trumps age SHAME is not what he feels. Trump is a bully, and if that dosen't work on you (the bullying), he sues you in court, and when that dosen't work (suing) (most peoples he sues can't afford the lawyers to fight him); he loses....

There fore Trump after all this is a loser... the one word he hates about himself.

Reports that the US is preparing to claim a big stake in Venezuela’s massive energy reserves have sparked an outcry, with critics describing the move as “predatory” and a “rapacious” land grab.

Several media outlets this week reported that the Trump administration – which abducted Venezuela’s authoritarian president, Nicolás Maduro, in January and has steered the South American country ever since – hopes to secure long-term access to its oil and gasfields.

Venezuela has the world’s largest proven crude oil reserves with an estimated 303bn barrels, compared with Saudi Arabia’s 268bn and Iran’s 208bn.

On Thursday, the Wall Street Journal said Trump officials were in “advanced talks” with Venezuelan officials to take “a direct stake in more than a dozen oilfields” containing 90bn barrels, nearly a third of Venezuela’s energy reserves.

“This is real and being discussed at the highest levels of the US and Venezuelan governments,” a source told Reuters, which said the fields being negotiated were in the Orinoco Belt and Lake Maracaibo regions.

Truth always comes out, it was never about Maduro

And of course, him and his rich buddies will make out like bandits and the Venezuelan people will get nothing from it, as won't the American people.

From a Canadian perspective it will take quite a while to get the Venezuelan oil infrastructure up and running, not that I'm a fan of pipelining oil from Canada to US!

Trump changes Lake Ontario to Lake America... Try logging on to Google Maps from anywhere outside Canada (I just did from Riga) Lake America. I think he better follow up and rename the city of Ontario, California to "America California"

Then there is Vancouver Washington??

If I were him and wanted to really screw things: put restrictions on canadian us banking arms. Most operate in democrat states. So with 1 move he would:
1. Put the squeeze on Canada
2. Hurt democrats
3. The uproar from business banking/mortgages/personal would force their representatives on the democrats to side with trump against canada and force canada to make a deal or lose their already small support
4. Allow better deals for US banks to operate in Canada if they want, or seek more concessions from Canada...

Yeah. We're talking decades to reach the BPD goal. Some of the places they're looking at drilling don't even have an electrical infrastructure, roads, facilities etc. Probably won't have an effect in a long time.

Oh look ! A self hating Canadian....that doesn't know how to read a US poll or how the US banking system works .

Pssst ... most banks function under state laws and the Federal reserves regulates the rest which trump cannot control by executive orders

Also, most US banks aren't interested in operating in Canada because we have much higher standards for stress testing and reserves. That’s why Canada had no bank failures in the 2008 crises.

It will be a cold day in Hell (Trump would need his blankie) before we would lower those standards to allow a bank to operate. Our Central Banker / Prime Minister might just be familiar with these facts.
