That's a major bummer. I've actually been working out in Northwest Ontario, and their fires have been crazy for a while, though things seem to be improving out there a bit. Still sucks that the country keeps getting torched year in and year out.

One of my favorite things to do is smoke a couple racks of ribs for a few hours. Applewood is my go to for wood in the smoker, and I give the ribs a spritz of apple cider vinegar every so often to help keep the meat tender.
