I know a lot of peeps in AB healthcare and it is an absolute disaster. Total disregard of the reality by politicians and the shady Hinshaw. People are dying because the UCP pandered to the business community. Prostitution is an absolute no win issue for any government. I dare you to post a solution to the problem that would pass Parliament under a Tory or NDP govt.
The Tories have several MPs who are rabidly religious fanatics(Cheryl Gallant, Candice Bergen for starters). They would happily throw prostitutes and clients in jail.
NDP are just as dogmatic in the opposite direction. Many of them see prostitution as 100% exploitation and all women are victims, all men are exploiting. They would also be happy to throw pooners in jail, but not prostitutes.
Disagree, especially in light of my own experiences in years of service. There was LOTS of harassment but it was NEVER reported. Any complaint would be the end of a woman’s career progress. Note that many of the assaults now coming to light happened years ago under other governments. Same with RCMP.
Under Trudeau at least these women have been heard, and prosecutions have begun. Gen Vance was appointed by Harper and never would have been charged by him.
Note that Harper appointed a guy as Justice Minister who had a divorce because he was screwing the babysitter. He also threatened to sue anyone posting info about it online- info that was public record.

Well, yeah, the implication is clear. If you want to see how Cons handle COVID, see Jason Kenney's example (and Moe I suppose too). O'Toole doesn't want to touch that with a 10 foot pole. Same goes for always ducking the question of how many of his own caucus are anti-vaxxers or conspiracy nuts in general. Same goes for how they (in 2021) wouldn't pass a resolution that climate change is a real problem. O'Toole wants the audience to focus on O'Toole, not his party or what they believe.
Last election (2019 - seems like 100 years ago), it was Rob Ford who was the pariah premier who the national Conservative campaign tried to hide under a rock for the whole campaign. (And they brought Kenney to Ontario to be the star campaigner for them, LOL).
Hilarious the degree to which the Conservative party will go to hide from the public the nature of its candidates, its beliefs, its record when in power, and disavow the behavior of its rank and file members. Does that really inspire anyone to think they should have power?
It's true. Other than the Green party under Elizabeth May (I have no idea about under the new leader), I do not think there is a party that would repeal it.
