I for one won't be eating there.
Doubtful that the customer carried in a rat, dropped it into her soup, to stage the incident. Restaurant owner sure was cheap according to the news story i saw on television.
Free lunch and $100 gift certificate to his own restaurant.

LOL. I saw that too. How hilarious. It's like, as a punishment, let me serve you more of my bubonic chowder!

This is a 2fer though. The soup was cooked at Mamie Taylor’s then transported to Crab Park Chowdery. Kiss both those places good bye.

The soup was cooked in the secondary basement of Mamie Taylor's by Crab Park. Mamie rented out the basement to them. They didn't know and have severed ties with Crab Park because of it. Both restaurants will be hit by reputation and financially regardless.

It was a small young rat, those things can squeeze thru anything, likely fell in the soup pot from above or fell in trying to feed on the soup. A real professional server would look carefully at what they put in the bowl and would have caught it. The idiots excuse was oh it was our best most experienced server and they never saw a thing, I’d hate to see how good his worst server is.
I remember years ago a rat had run across the top of a food prep area and had fallen and drowned in a large batter bowl. It was plopped in the deep frier along with the other pieces of fish and wound up alongside a couple strips of fish parked atop the fries. Can’t remember the restaurant but it made the news as well, Bon appetite!

I'd eat there. It will probably be the cleanest kitchen in Vancouver after this.

PS - It's what you can't see in your food that's really disgusting. I'll never understand people who return food and insult the cooks. They have no idea what they're getting back on their plate, but it won't be pretty.

It's just a little free protein and they got a gift card out of it. I'd call that a good day. ;)
They could have included a complimentary shot of penicillin ....you know ,for safe measure.
For the record I prefer my protein with the tails removed ,and without hair.

Stressed rats always leave a trail of Turds behind, those chewy raisins in the soup pot must have added some flavour.

The owner just keeps making it worse, instead of being apologetic, the idiot is now trying to say it couldn't have happened. This guy obviously doesn't understand management, customer relations, ot much else. The less he says, besides a sincere SORRY, the better off he will be. Seems he lacks the impulse control to not stop talking, thus digging himself a hole to bury his business in.

This guy is a psycho, have you seen the video of him comparing a cooked up rat that is pliable to a rigid spoon?! (Go to 1:50 mark of video) Both comical and delusional. Could you imagine the rant he would go on if he was a SP and you left "her" a bad review.

That is laughable at best.
Wonder what he did with his white cane during the making of that video, he is obviously blind, as well as stupid.

It gets even more unbelievable. The delusional owner has set up a GoFundMe page for his Rat Chowdery. However, the bigger morons are the people that have actually donated to it!

That's similar to me setting up a GoFundMe page for the scammers that have been scamming people here with E-Transfers.
